and people wonder why i am not a fan of dealers.
Give it enough time and one of the dealers on here will try and come along and defend this.
However i do wonder how much of the £38 is for parts....
I once had a VW dealer call be to say they needed to fit a new set of HT leads to my corrado VR6 as after changing the plugs and plugging the leads back in it was running on 5 cylinders, - one of the HT leads braking inside.
OK... you broke them? and i pay.. right..
Get this they would not back down saying the HT leads get brittle over time and it happens and was not their fault..
Cost.. about £180 for the parts, but they were really nice and said they would not charge labour for replacing them.. thanks alot you ****s.
I refused the work and picked up a new set of HT leads from the same factory (in VAG box) on route for about £30.
Went to fit them in the carpark of the dealers. - mm these old HT leads are not brittle..
hold on, this ones not even plugged in.. its simply sitting loosly in the plug recess. i look inside and hes bent it inside, where the fat fingered oaf of a moron working on the car has tried to push it onto the spark plug at an agle of about 30 degrees.
Took about 10 seconds for me to straighten out the metal guides with my fingers and the car was fine.
It ran ok for the next 2 years i had the car.
When i pointed out why the car was running on 5 cylinders to the service desk attendant and that it the car was in fact running ok i was greated with what i can only describe as a look of:
'here we go, some member of public who thinks be knows it all..' followed by a complete denial that anything could ever be done wrong by the highly skilled technicians of said dealer.
