Seriously throw some eibach's and a whiteline ARB and there wont be much that can stick with you on the twisties! This is now the best handling and with the most grip out of any car I’ve owned. I have owned a well set up 106Gti which used to be classed as one of the best handling cars ever. (was a while back though but was still up against much more expensive machinery!).

which car are you reffering to mate?

Did anyone see the 400+bhp turbo'd 106GTI at trax?

I like the looks of the Cupra, but interior of the polo is a lot classier. I think both look amazing when modified but cant decide until i have test driven a polo gti!

I found the Clio to be quick and amazing when throwing around bends but lacked the ability to be tuned like a good ol turbo or twincharged engine. The fuel economy is absolutely appalling with an average of 21/22mpg. The interior was well put together, no creaking or rattles. Nice plastic with a good finish, easily on part with a Cupra. The history of the recaros and fabric getting worn quite quickly was a worry but easily replaced under warranty.

At the moment i'm torn between a Cupra or a Polo GTI as i love the interior finish on the Polo.

you also have the problem with the insurance on the clios especially if ur under 25 which is why the boc is more appealing to me, anything over a 1.6 is stupid insurance for under 25 or so i have found anyway!!

I was 21 insured on the Clio 200 and not a problem, decent prices as well!! The Boc on the other hand is a complete rip off!!!

for some reason they seem to do some poeple good quotes and others not even if there the same age etc, coz like for me on the boc it would make a tenner difference on insurance, but on the clio it would be about 1,500 more just doesnt make sense at all.lol.

Owned a Clio 182 and a Clio R27...can tell you straight up, in the same class as these cars nothing will come close to their handling straight out of the box. They are quick cars and capable or embarassing many other cars...BUT, owning the Boc now I can tell you that there is very little difference in terms of performance...IMO the Boc feels just as quick as my previous RS Clios...the main difference being that the Bocs power / torque is available so much lower down the rev band where as the Clio's didn't really come alive until after 5k revs. I do note that there is a 220bhp RS Clio planned for 2011/12 which I will definately be having a look at...hopefully they will have addressed the economy issue for when driving sensibly!

The more expensive running costs of the Clio is what basically 'drove' away to try something different...and have been well impressed with the lower fuel / insurance / tax costs of the Boc...YET I can still have plenty of fun if I want.

Can't see there being a massive difference in performance between VXR / Cupra / Boc / Clio....and at the end of the day will come down to driver, conditions and the track.

The Cupra is the best ownership proposition in the class. The handling and the seats could be better, but the Clio would be more suitable alternative, not the VXR.

That wont have the full set up, just engine work usually. Cooper Works edition is a completely different car ;)

Aah did wonder it has the works badge on the front and the Cooper S on the back. Driven a bog standard Cooper S and prefer my Boc, the Cooper S felt a bit like a motorised roller skate. The full WRX one is supposed to be a real beast though.
