You can save yourself the money of buying a new card with modest PC skills. There is a
resource built from the long running Leon 3 thread.
This
resource is applicable to all Seat navigation systems plus other Vag brands which are MIB2 / 2.5. It is built from the knowledge base on the Leon forum from a long running thread which has the advantage of tracking the twists and turns over...

Yours I believe is a mib2 standard... I guess you dive into "how do I know" in the link, you are looking for 6P0. Also if it has a card in the system it will sag 6p0.... with other numbers on it. If so you down load the latest maps as linked
That explains it your release was sometime between 2015 - 2018 but not 1030 and beyond 🤗. Glad that worked. Correct, it was a (dutch) release from 2016, cant remember which build exactly but it was pretty old. Your uploaded overall file worked instantly with the new map updates without...

Then you
MUST follow what this board calls the "workaround" devised by Exciter in 2017:
Steps:
- Download the latest standard MIB2 maps
- on the infotainment go to settings, safely remove, sd1 card
- remove sd1 card from glove box slot
- long press on the on / off to reboot it a couple of times
- insert sd card in to computer
- copy and paste all contents to a directory on your computer
- Delete the SD card keep it as fat32 and leave format settings as default in file explorer (don't forget to push the card lock mechanism to off) (ditto in a MAC or delete all from the SD card)
- Copy the new downloaded map version to the SD card (after unzipping it)
- Replace /maps/EEC/EEC_WLD/OVERALL.NDS on the SD CARD with the one from the original SD card
- eject the sd card (on a MAC run CleanMyDrive on the SD card - then eject)
- Inserted the card into the card 1 slot in glove box whilst infotainment is off
- power on and go to navigation
Step 9. Is the workaround. Skoda and VW offered life long mapcare via this download. Seat was awkward and didn't. Shuffling the that overall.nds file from the original card onto the new image forces the unit to generate a new navigation FeC in the unit. The method has been copied by all Seat formums across Europe now, all down to one clever poster in 2017.
If its a mib2 standard since 2017 circa 2020 or so the European map expanded in size. Original cards were 16gb. They can still be used if you pick a file from the link that is zoned. If you really want to travel across Europe all zones buy a 32gb card. These can cheaply be bought off eBay using what you normally do observe the reputation.
It's likely that the linked files release in June 2023 will be the
last mib2 standard updates since nothing appeared in November 2023 across Vag boards.
The other thing that you can do if you use
TMC (traffic reports). These were discontinued in April 2023 by the Traffic Master provider if a Mib2 standard you can go back 3 years to Here Maps file and use a mod to get the unit to work on Inrix the other UK provider.

Just updated to latest maps. First time I've updated them since I got the car. Sat nav works fine so far, new roads in my area now included. Scanned my car with carista and car scanner pro app and getting a Navigation database not enabled error code. As I say, it seems to be working fine, just...

Getting it to work was done by two people on Briskoda one taking the Ozzie solution of imported Vag cars to Australia and getting them on the Australian TMC service. You had to wash that through a mib2 standard tool kit whilst that was perfected without doing that by an Audi TT programmer driver... least I thinks he's got a TT up there with the likes of Exciter. That just requires so code copied on top of the files. Either way the solution only works with V12 maps due to mib2 standard maps from V13-V18 being based on TomTom files rather than Here maps. The Here maps to V12 were more generalised and had the bells and whistles in built into them to be customised.
Right well if it hasn't got 6P0 in the map descriptor then it's a
mib2 high (Seat Plus). These were sold as the extra deluxe model to be added onto orders but fitted as standard on some Cupras from 2015-2020 (to 2019 model). The
resource gives you the test. Again Seat tried to snooker owners from doing free map updates on these units. You can get the life long FeCs put on these units by East Yorkshire Retrofit or use one of two other methods, the mib2 high toolbox or update the firmware to 1447 AIO. Some late Seats in that range came with life long FeCs. You can do the test and check.
Mib2 high maps are still being updated and I'm running with the June 2024 (2024-2025 release) details on the discussion thread and
resource. TMC Inrix can be coded onto these units as well, as per
resource link and this does work with the latest maps well. That's a simple VCDS /
OBDELEVEN coding change. We got to thank the TT programmer driver for that one.
Mib3 is what is used on the 2020 models to 2024. These use Here Maps over the air updates if you pay for connect services or you can do map updates twice a year. See pinned thread on the Leon 4 area of the board. Seat by mib3 scrapped a charged service via mapcare. Saying that best to use the VW files. Seat and Skoda post old files to their website. The user community find these files early why I've got the June 2024 maps on my car already. These Audi maps...
Mib1 the other other one prior to 2015 that's still being updated and the community has found 2023 maps now... on the main navigation thread. It was the Holy Grail early on the thread to update mib1 realiably. There use to be a 50:50 chance, the odds have been improved. Might still be work in progress. You need to carefully follow the instructions on that. See recent mib1 posts on the navigation thread.
This post:
I downloaded the file on Briskoda yesterday, the Skoda one, and as you say it doesn't unpack properly, lots of errors. The size when unzipped is nearly 200mb smaller than the 330 maps. Yes the Audi mib2 high only file is error free and works. If it's true that because the TT was fitting mib2...

As for Google Maps they do mis cartography. They mis new housing estates and the POIs can be problematic, hit and miss on location. People also find the built in maps useful on dark nights in the Swiss Alps when the phone signal goes

... those committed to Google maps. It's horses for courses, mib3 was a backwards step. Mib1 and mib2 are more like traditional navigation systems. We await to see "Mib4" which should appear in the Tavascan later in the year and probably other models from 2025. Whether they have allowed for more destination storage slots we'll see. That was one of the missing sides. Mib3 was a complete re-write of mib2 using Auto Linux moving away from QNX.
For those that don't want to fiddle with phones and just drive the built in maps have their uses and created by proper cartography companies with good validation.
