First off, I'd like to apologise for saying you can't bleed the master cylinder - turns out you can! My bad. Secondly, I just did the brakes on my own (Mk1) LCR, and I had the same problem as you, air in the MC. After bleeding everything, that sorted it right out and the brakes are now sound as a pound.
However as I said above, you ran the risk of damaging the seals and you may have done just that if bleeding all necessary nipples hasn't done the trick.
I can't be of any more help to you as I don't know the intricacies of the Mk2 braking system, so good luck and if you can't sort it out, take it to a garage!
