Try this:

http://networkq.co.uk/nq/buyers/valuecar.do

It gives you trade prices, but not retail unfortunately. Its Glass's though which is what all traders use.

Dont use Parkers, 99% of the time its wrong! Dealers use Glass's and CAP, as mentioned above.

I agree Parkers seems out of date.

When I part ex'd my Celica for the Cupra I paid the £3.00 for the Glass's valuation which was spot on for what I'd been offered as a part ex price.

One of the reasons Parkers is so far away is because it gives you a part exchange value against a new car at list price.

The trade guides such as CAP and Glass's guide are a truer reflection of the cars value.

Don't forget with all guides they are just that a guide, the true value of any car is what someone is willing to pay for it.

There could be many reasons for a dealer offering more or less than guide price, such as mileage, condition, colour and current market forces.

It's a minefield even for dealers.

As I say I found Glass's spot on for the Celica. It even listed what criteria they use for things like Excellent condition, which includes things like 4 nearly new tyres. My Celica was in really good condition but to bring it up to 'Excellent' would have been £500 which was the difference in value between the two rating.

I got £8500 the same value in Glass's against a new Cupra. I managed to track what happened to the car after. Basically the SEAT dealer auctioned it and another dealer (big nearly new car specialist) bought it and tried to retail it for £9995 this gradually dropped to £8995, which is when I suspect they sold it and it looks to have been taxed since so I presume a customer bought it.

I'm pretty certain that somewhere along the line somebody took an unexpected hit on the value of that car.

The Parkers value was way out, they reckoned £9200 in part ex and over £10,000 retail, but just shows that even a large dealer couldn't get that sort of money for it.

Sounds like your a very realistic person. I went from a celica to the cupra. Even though i work for toyota it had to be done :)

i would be serious..but at this stage i was totally just curious about it all, as a possibility...instead of tuning mine, i was going to get the 220/225 and then tune that, giving me an added 40bhp over what i have now
