Really liking this mate... just had a flick through.

questions for you:

What gaitor did you put on, was it an LCR one? i just put and LCR handbrake on and i just want to match the gator...

Caliper paint - Hammerite?

I really like the idea of gunmetal/black LCR alloys and black mirrors and roof. :)

are you going to go big turbo etc then?

thanks mate, yes it was the lcr replica gaitor i put on :) was easy enough to do but i think im going to just buy the actual lcr handbrake gaitor next as the sleeve replica doesnt look great!

nope i was going to go for hammerite klone but instead i order a caliper painting kit which came with the cleaner spray, paint and paint brushes! think it looks spot on and will look better with some multispoke alloys?

my plans next tbh are decat/possible exhaust upgrade, lower it onto some springs or coilies, window tints(smoked) some multispoke alloys and a respray for a couple of the panels....once ive done these small niggly bits i'll move onto bigger things like bigger turbo, intercooler and stage 2 :)

My most ambitious plans though are to get my current tdi bumper complete smoothed and sprayed silver....think it would look good as i dont agree with buying an lcr bumper etc so that it looks like its trying to be something its not? :\ will be something different! :)

the gaitor looks good pal might have to invest in that... and the caliper kit too... lots REALLY bright :)

the plans sound good to me, apart from the bumper... if you dont want the LCR bumper id go with the cupra bumper like mine... much better looking for me anyway..

like the saying goes, he who dares, wins... but i wonder if you might spend the cash on your bumper and hate it??

would still personally change the bumpers mate, doesnt matter thats your making it look like an FR or cupra. the most important thing is your making it look better. i would buy them 100% before jazzing up the old ones. personally dont like those stock bumpers.

Have you got a link to the caliper painting kit?? End result is stunning :D you didn't have to remove the caliper did you?

haha i'll try and get one for you dave lol bear in mind i did 3 coats...any less than this and its not as pungent imo :p but is worth the effort!

and no mate, carefully painted while caliper was on! you considering doing the vinyls aswell? i thinnk they really set it off :p

I agree. It's not as if you're sticking a cupra r badge on the back or that.
I'd go with the cupra bumpers, prefer them to cupra r tbh.

if i was going to get the cupra bumper, i think i would defo's have to go lower to be able to pull it off.....cars with the cupra bumper on standard springs looks stupid imo...:banned:

thats the one i prefer too scott...but 300quid for a good conditioned bumper cant really be justified...well not for me anyway. if i saw one cheaper then yes id get it.

tbh im guessing no cheaper than 300 anyway? plus i dont think he supplies pre-painted parts...id have to pay extra for that ontop of the 300...perhaps i'll be corrected but i think im not far off. cupra facelift it is :) saw one go for 90quid a couple months back.
