it all depends what you can afford ive owned the 20vt cupra and i own a pd160 cupra now and the 1.8t is the better car for fun imo.
the two are not much different in terms of driveability but the 1.8t is far more fun the two engines are completly different in the way they deliver there power.
like I said in my la post I have just sold my Grande Punto tdi which was mapped to 185bhp and fully understand the way it always put a smile on my face due to the power and the way if was so understated would just put a Honda civic type r to shame no problem and I think the Cupra tdi would do the same but with more power and more torque however every video I have seen on Youtube shows just how much smoke they put and I think that is just a little embarrassing really my punto was not different but that would be the only down full with it. silly question really buy has any tdi owners got theres mapped to around 200 bhp and not had the smoke issue. this is part of the reason im considering the petrol when and for the fact that with a nice milltek on her she would sound sweet. what kind of bhp and torque figure would I get from a remap with REVO on the 1.8t state 1 around 220 bhp ?
My Cupra tdi ran 195bhp on a rolling road after a remap with the standard exhaust and there wasn't a lot of smoke just a puff when I first put my foot down. It's when you put a decat exhaust on that it gets worse, then even worse when you put a hybrid turbo on and get it mapped.
