Help: Do you know anything about this car?

They wouldn't ever check that anyway. Only if you had a massive accident and they suspected that was an issue. Then they would have to RR it anyway, and even then they probs won't be able to if its smashed up..

I don't have any plans set in stone to do the above......but it's a very good point which I actually never thought about. As if they were planning to check my ECU it probably would be for a serious accident (again god-forbid).

I'm wanting to remain as legal as possible but it seems whatever way I go about it, it won't particularly work well. I overspec the car (above 26bhp increase) and can't get insured, I underspec the car and then I'm driving illegally anyway.

I'm sure their will be a few frowns but I'm airing toward not making them aware of the supposed increase in BHP. Unless of course upon meeting the guy he can shed any further light on the situation.

It becomes a very messy situation when remaps are involved as how do the insurance companies prove the person knew about the vehicle modification?

210 is a bit optimistic , more like 190-195 bhp would say , but looks like a tidy car , when you look at the car check this site

Thanks mate, will do all though it states that you can only check previous MOT's going back to 2005, so that's not much use in this instance!? I am correct in saying that!?

Thanks for all the help guys.

You can only go back to when it all became computerised.

Yeah that's the way I read it and read it as being 2005 so can't use it in this instance but sure it will prove to be a handy tool in future.

So it's not been mot'd since 2005 ;)

Oh yeah, just ignore my above posts, sorry mate, having a stupid moment there. I had in my head some reason it being a 2005 so therfore the above wasn't applicable.....I'm a scammers dream

Hi Guys,

Just to let you know I picked up the car yesterday and all seems well. It's in immaculate condition, only fault I could find was a wheel nut missing which the guy pointed out. I received receipts for some of the works he stated he had done in excess of £900, it's actually got an after market CD player in it also which is very good.

It feels very very quick - faster than my petrol quick so who knows. He told me it also has Brembo brakes fitted and that's about as much as he knew. Drove a 2 and a half hour journey home yesterday and averaged 55 MPG with quite a bit of starting and stopping due to traffic so I'm very very pleased.

Thanks for all your help guys.
