They wouldn't ever check that anyway. Only if you had a massive accident and they suspected that was an issue. Then they would have to RR it anyway, and even then they probs won't be able to if its smashed up..
I don't have any plans set in stone to do the above......but it's a very good point which I actually never thought about. As if they were planning to check my ECU it probably would be for a serious accident (again god-forbid).
I'm wanting to remain as legal as possible but it seems whatever way I go about it, it won't particularly work well. I overspec the car (above 26bhp increase) and can't get insured, I underspec the car and then I'm driving illegally anyway.
I'm sure their will be a few frowns but I'm airing toward not making them aware of the supposed increase in BHP. Unless of course upon meeting the guy he can shed any further light on the situation.
It becomes a very messy situation when remaps are involved as how do the insurance companies prove the person knew about the vehicle modification?
