Hi all my wife's Alarm siren keeps going off all the time, it's odd as the lights don't flash?
Can anyone tell me where the siren is ? So I can disconnect it till I can get it booked in at a garage???? It sounds like its under the front screen on the driver side but I'm not sure?

Can anyone give me any idea why this could be happening?
We can't even drive it at mo as it just goes off when it wants

Any help would be fantastic

Thanks

Microswitch in the door locking mechanism?
I have fixed few other VAG cars with that problem
Check when locking the car if all door do lock and if there is a flash from indicators telling you its locked

Knackered and drained battery and cold night can set alarm off also .

Siren is in the plenum chamber where the wiper motor , ecu and pollen filter are .

To access remove wiper arms ( nut under plastic cap ) and pull off plenum chamber cover .

Did you find the cause as mine started doing this after the rear bumper being undone thanks to a low car and a high curb :censored:wit that I am.

status subject to change
if indicators dont flash when arming, this indicates that the system things something is not closed, be it a door, boot or bonnet.
bonnet is one ive seen as a cause before.

but also the boot light can cause issues if its playing up. try removing the bulb to test/eliminate this.

Youve got fast growing mushrooms coming out of the rear foot well carpet or a mouse in the wiring harness ............... naah .......... Knackered battery . Leave the battery on charge for a couple of days , that often ressurects it enough that the alarm behaves it self after

Haha I was going slightly more conventional with the magic tree idea!

Could be a dodgy sensor though.

Try turning them off with the button and setting the alarm and seeing what happens

Thanks for all the replies, Iv had the battery off and the alarm went crazy,
Even with a charged battery, it's going off
And now going off randomly when driving the car,
All the doors seem to unlock fine and the boot and bonnet so all can think of doing for now is to try and disconnect the siren some how , so will be trying that tomorrow if the weather stays dry, then hopefully find a good auto electrician I guess....

Thanks again

currently my alarm sounds suddenly when driving. when i start her up, within a few seconds i hear the door locks going, b4 moving off, the door led flashes, then 15 seconds later the alarm sounds and indicators flash. also sitting in the drive the cars flashes indicators, locks lock and unlock, by themselves. iit happened last year as well for several months, i searched in here, and saw a guide showing how the door lock module can have a broken solder point that can cause it. now after months free hassle it has suddenly started again, i think due to the cold damp weather. im going to replace the door lock module.

Update: charged the battery, and it's still going off all the time, and now even going off when I lock my mk4 golf and my vw caddy van, seems like something to do with the alarm frequency or something...
It's really doing my head in, I got a guy out and had it put on vag com no faults came up with the door locks.
So I'm really stumped :-(

Prise the two caps off the wiper arms and undo the nuts . Pour a small amount of hot water from a kettle onto the wiper arm where the nut was . This will expand the alloy of the arms and allow you to pull them off with ease . next remove the plastic panel that the wiper arms poke through . Just pull up to remove. You should now see the plenum chamber with wiper motor to the drivers side and ECU in the middle . The siren should be just to the drivers side of the ecu . Disconnect the wires and seal ends with electric tape . Take the car to a seat dealer and they will connect the car to a diagnostic computor in Germany that will diagnose the fault once and for all.

I read somewhere if you press lock button twice on keyfob it disables movement sensor because your button on inner b post might be faulty.
Worth a go stop it driving you mad for now
