Had these on front of the cupra tdi for 1000 miles now, including 200 miles of hard driving... and i mean hard. They are replacing Rainsport 2's, which in turn replaced Proxes T1r's. I liked the rainsport 2's but they are garbage in the dry.

Can say outright these are the best tyres i've had on the car yet. Grip both wet and dry is superb, feedback is vast improvement. However biggest difference is the sound.. i thought there was something wrong with the car going down the mway...

Must be half the tyre noise.

Very pleased with this purchase, can't wait to test them on track at some point.

How much were they khan? I'm due to replace my fronts pretty soon... Got Avons on the front and Toyo's on the rear and i must say they're pretty good also.

I currently have Avons all round, same as when I bought the car... 10000 miles later (a good 1000 miles of hard driving) and I still have a good way to go before they will need replacing... Don't mean to hijack the thread slightly, but I have had the camber and bushes looked at on the rear, both are fine, wheel bearings are fine, tyres are inflated to correct PSI, so can anyone provide explanation for why the rear tyres are wearing at a much more rapid rate on the inside than on the rest? Literally about an inch of the tyre on the inside is getting really low, compared to the rest of the tyre which is wearing at a normal rate...

Cheers,
Squirrel.

Where did you get the alignment checked? Proper 4 wheel laser alignment job?

Pretty much all I got when I asked SEAT... Had it done at a place in Guildford, was the full 4 wheel jobbie as far as I know. Just seems really strange how they have worn, the only thing I can think of is the camber...

I had the choice a short while ago of the above Hankooks or the RainSport 2s in 205/45/16, for £150 fitted. I went for the RainSports and found the noise level to be no different to the Bridgestone Turanzas before, only difference was wet grip is now better.

Now I'm wondering if I'd have been better with the Hankooks

I'm on my second second of the Hankooks, did consider trying something else but after my good experience with the first set I couldn't find any that had better all round reviews.

I had 17k out of the first set with a little switching around ;) and although 60 miles out of the daily 90 commute are boring duel carriageway.

Place local to me does them for £74 a corner fitted and balanced :)

At 3mm left they do drop off a little but even changing at that point would be good value

I'm not unhappy with mine, they seem almost identical to the Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3s I had before, just cost £35 a corner less!

Interestingly Dad had Hankook tyres on his T5 Transporter van and also said that the grip dropped off a cliff totally at around 3mm of tread remaining.

Thats good then... Hopefully they will be better than the Yoko Parada Spec 2's on at the moment. I've had Hankook tyres before, don't think they were the ones were on about as it was a few years ago, but they were pretty good - As mentioned though, once they wore down they started to deteriorate quite quickly.

Same happened with with rainsports tbh. Amazing wet weather tyres, but for a summer track day tyre i just couldn't live with the way they go off once there hot.
