Poor dampers are a huge reason that the Cupra feels so on edge. I've got a rear arb to go on at the weekend, which im expecting big things from, but i fitted Eibach Springs and Dampers to mine a couple of weeks back and the difference is stunning. It still rolls too much, but nowhere near as bad as it did.
The big difference for me is the amount of power i can actually put down now... i was sick of hitting very very slight crests when it was standard and either have the traction control kick in or the rear end going wobbly... this just doesnt happen now, its sooo well damped and predictable. The rear end doesnt squirm around and as a whole it feels 500% better.
I can really go into fast corners committed without the worry that one illplaced bump or ridge in the road is gonna upset the rear end and scare the s**t out of me... it just doesnt happen anymore because the car hits the bump, deals with it, then carries on, instead of hitting it then bouncing around screaming for attention like a 2yr old
