Went to buy a new oil filter for my LCR today as i was going to do an oil change on my car using the Castrol EDGE 0w-30 i think it is, however they dont have the cupra r in their little guide book and they only have the 1.8 leon in it. So i went and asked someone if this would fit my car and you know they give you that look as if to say "i am going to tell you it fits your car but i myself dont have a clue" well i got that.

So can anyone clarrify that the leon 1.8 oil filter is compatable with the cupra r one,

cheera

so we are talking what 6000 miles then yeah, if so thats fine cos i am due a service then so they replace it then anyway dont they

Hi
The dealer ones are only £4.00 retail.
So why go to halfords?
06A115561B is the genuine part for ALL 1.8T and even some of the 2.0`s

There all good, otherwise it would be illegal to sell them in large retail organisations.
That has got to be the funniest statement I have read in a long time!!

Just because a large retail organisation sells something, doesn't mean it's any good!!

Even so, oil filter wise, I did find my local SEAT dealer to be cheaper than any motor factor!!

Not at all!!

All I'm saying is that just because a retailler sells something, doesn't mean that it's always any good!!

I mean, ever bought something that's turned out to be useless from a large retailler? Or did you only get the useless stuff from the corner shop (which, your statement leads to say that there is no law preventing small retaillers from selling junk!)

I 100% agree with you. But what i was trying to say was, it would be illegal for halfords to sell you a product for your car, which had negative effects. Sorry if i implied myself different!

No worries mate - I'm just in one of those moods tonight!! ;)

And are you sure Halfords wouldn't sell something that had a negative effect on your car?? I mean, they sell those blue washer jet LED's... ;)

there are dodgy products around for sale through large stores, for example RaceSprot "plasma ultra white bulbs" which have been independantly tested against other brands... they produce only 575 lumen when the minimum allowed is 1,350...

on the other hand, Halfords "own brand" stuff is up there with the best of the rest in independant tests... however, they're not always the cheapest.

Well... Those blue washer jet LED's can give up to anything between 8-15 hp. Would you call that a negative effect? [B)]
