Was your engine up to temp when you checked? I still havent checked mine. I dont know the exact effects but i imagine it wont produce max power. If its starting injection early, as a guess you may be injecting too much fuel so economy could be down? Would be interesting to see if you notice any difference, let me know how it goes. Remember little adjustment can make a big diff.

I read somewhere that our engine "likes" to be around +0.5 to +1.5 but I'm not exactly sure what "Like" means and if this is the case mines over 4 degrees out, which Can't be any good But may explain
Why it only pulled 220 bhp when I had it mapped, can't Wait to sort the timing out tomorrow to see if it is better!

Only 220? Im guessing its not just on a remap? Let us know.....must make some sort of difference. Due to work/weather iv still got to plug mine in to 1) check timing and 2) do more logs on injection etc.

I can only guess its the torsion value that you guys are checking? If so it shouldn't really stray from +/-0.5 zero or 0.0 being spot on without any advance or retard.

Yes mj it's the torsion value, just to double check does the engine have to be up to temperature to get an accurate reading?

Check it with the temp at 90 and try to get it as close to 0.0 as possible - the ecu will advance or retard the timing as it sees fit.

Its all ecu controlled so no benefit really, some say it cures rough running and can help efficiency which I don't think is untrue but without decent, replicable or recoded evidence I'll stay sceptical.

Make sure you lock the pulley before you adjust it and remember to remove the tool afterwards!

I adjusted it and managed to get it smack bang on 0.0 but keeps fluctuating to -1.1 and then back to zero, it "feels" smoother but then it was upto temp so might be just in my head...

MJ I didn't use a locking tool, I just undid the 3 13mm bolts on the pulley and moved the cam with the centre bolt??

I also logged block 13 which shows injector quantities, I read somewhere (may be this thread) that high injector values mean low compression on that particular cylinder, in my case it's cylinder 4 which was reading +1.1 where as the other 3 were saying -0.5 ish...

Ill try and get mine up to temp and log if i have time over the wkend!

Yeah i read some where too that all 4 cylinders should be preety much the same, if 1 cylinder is different it could lead to low compression on that cylinder.
