GT28 and 400bhp
Did'nt he used to have a GT28RS? saw it on JBS rolling road day some years back... probably totally different spec now tho.. judging by the manifold adaption
correct Bill,he did have a gt28 at the jbs rr day, then he went gt28rs with Rs doing all the fab work.they were going to be doing a manifold and dp for me but i couldn't wait the amount of time they were quoting so i went jbs set up.They did do my exhaust and chargepipe though, the welds are superb.

Well, the manifold certainly looks very nice. I like how they've used a swaged piece on the ports - assume this is to keep the pipe size down to get all the pipes in.

Often makes me wonder how the design starts - how they figure out how to run all the branches. I gets it's just a big box on mandrel bends and keep trying them.

It does look like it'll be tight between the wastegate and the compressor.

That add-on pipe is a clever solution, but I bet it's far from ideal.

why isnt it ideal? apparently they always planned to do it like that!??

the reason there is a swaged part coming off of the port is because the port holes in the flange are 44.5mm, the pipes are runin 38.1mm iirc
this creates the step needed between the head and mani. i also spoke to the person who is porting my head in the future and he told me the size the ports will be once i have it done.

lets just hope its durable lol

Didn't say it wasn't ideal - we all know a step where the port joins the mani is ideal, interesting that they've gone to the trouble of using reducers/swaged pieces, that's all.

I'm sure they know MUCH more about it than me...

interesting adaption... looks vag 1.8t also

This car was in the show and shin at pod yesterday, so it's still running the same spec from what i could see. would have been nice to see it put to better use running the 1/4 though.

My thought on it was that it's a nice solution for people on a tight budget.:)

lol, yep defo strang but it is a nice looking car, but as you say more show than go.

On a diffrent note i think caney was benind my other half in the sprint line up at one point and the tt defo did not sound to healthy, but from what i gather its fairly terminal.:(

Mani looks good to, fab work spot on (so my other half tells me) you neaver know i might get mine finished one day this year.

i need some advise from you people. my bill has gone up £700 from rs fabrication. i was only told today and im collecting tomorrow!

surly they cant do this. the only problem is i have no written quote.
i spoke to them on wednesday and i asked how it was going money wise. he said things look good and wont be far off! im then hit with a bill OVER £2000!!!!!!

no quote, not a leg

an estimate is exactly that though.

£700 is 20hrs 'more' work though @ £35/hr, which is all a metal basher should rate at. - so I'd like some breakdown on cost.

What waiver did you sign when you delivered it regarding design / limitations / additional cost?

You decided what you`r going to do about the situation Mr H?

Hopfully you maybe able to come to some arrangement with them as a £700 hike in price is pretty steep without letting you know.

But if nothings written in black and white i dont suppose theres alot you can do. Its your word against theres.

Good luck
