this is the cupra kit, but has the silver wing mirrors of the Fr, you said earlier that it is registered as an FR? did it have the 4 pot brakes?

if it is an FR engine then the cupra front bumper will obstruct the SMIC, the FR front bumper doesnt have the smooth fog's so doesnt obstruct it. the cupra has a FMIC so it doesnt affect it

my mate has a 182 and when i have driven that it has been no were near as comfy as my 'fr. 182s are better for short journeys and blasts round were as the seat's are a lot better for longer distance

No, it doesn't have the Cupra brakes.

If you look on the side pillers its also got the FR badges stuck on behind the drivers door, just checked a view websites and that car was registered as an FR 150

Have you checked the chassis numbers all match up to make sure it aint knicked, cut and shut etc,

interiors for comparison

as knight said that is the cupra interior, however, thats the facelifted cupra interior, so late 2006 onwards, so that has obviously undergone a full cupra refit recently for one reason or another (he could have just wanted to think he was in a cupra)

this is what the interiors would look like:

04-06 FR

PreFaceliftFRInterior.jpg

04-06 Cupra

06-08 FR (excluding armrest)

what you have on that car is the 06-08 cupra interior

I've gone from a 172 Cup to an Ibiza Cupra TDi; had a 330ci for about 6 months in between and I am enjoying the Seat. I don't think it's quite as much fun as the Clio, it doesn't handle as well and the ride is quite crashy but the other than that, I'm quite impressed.

The brakes are awesome and the performance is pretty impressive for a diesel (can't comment on the petrol but a remap, as you know you will see off a remapped Clio no probs) so it really depends what you want. I guess with your planned mods you will see a handling improvement.

Only negative points so far for me has been the rattly dash! This might be down to the diesel engine being not-so-smooth but the whole thing rattles like mad! Compared to the Clio, it's worse by a long way.

Overall, I'm a happy Seat owner and after my planned remap, I will be even happier I reckon. It will be bye bye Clio, eat my black smoke!

I loved the Clio btw. The 172 Cup is an awesome car. Fun per £, I don't think it can be beaten.

I bet it's been shunted & repaired - airbags in the OE seats popped, and the interior & wheels & front bumper lifted from a scrapped cupra

run forrest run!

There's plenty of better ones out there
