Phill just out of curiosity how much did you pay for new seals and where did you buy them from? Ive took my door pillar black stickers off (and along peeled the lacquer too) and as the top seal is glued down good would need a new one to go on after respray

last 2 posts mate, bothe yellow Leons 1- R and 1- "R" both has miss fitting bumpers since fitting them
i will prob still get one but wont be for a while, spending to much on it at the min

Mine's also due to someone "trying to" reverse park and leaving me with a massive blue mark on the bumper. [:@]

Agreed. I paid over 2k for my paint job and there are flaws. You have to look but they are there. You CAN'T paint a full car and have it flawless. Not without spending hundreds of hours on it.

And I don't want to offend anyone but I've seen photos of some of the cars on here getting ready for paint, and the prep was horrendous. So the paintjobs aren't 100%, no matter how much they kid themselves

i know i what you mean painting is the easy bit its the prep that counts but people done seem to get that

we charge £1500+ and it will come out as a flawless job and if you find some thing we miss it gets put right it comes ot better then factory) i cannot work out how some one can paint a car £600 with out being out of pocket  we couldnt the paint we use and clear with all primer and materials will come to about £500

i've paid £162 for paints for my spray job, done the prep my self (and my bro-in-law) and my bro in law is painting it for me CHEAP but he is a "sprayer" and i used to do prep work at the BMW MINI factory, still taken a bloody age though, found a lot of shat on the car from a old repair before i bought it and had 120K miles worth of stone chips and bug shat to get rid of, lower half of the front bumper had to go down to plastic more or less, had loads of fun doing that... 4 hours of fun in fact, as we doing all the prep by hand...
only down side is we have no oven and im turning a garage in to a booth, we do on the other had have about 4 industrial heaters going in there

You can do it as it has been done and the finish is good there's no point to argue I'm afraid as the proof is there

Good or flawless?

no such thing as flawless imo but is a very good finish its all down to personal preference at the end of it youll always have the slightest imperfections

ash its for standared non metalic colour but i can imagin it being to much more would need a paint to code for a quote tho

If i paid 600quid for a respray and it came out a good job then i would be more than happy. Obviously a flawless job is gonna be abit more. But maybe just the guy is fair and shows that buy gettin work. I got quoted 1k for mine to be sprayed in white. Which i though was a belting price
