Getting a fuel smell inside the car? anyone else had this?

its quite random - yesterday drove for 10mins and parked up - as soon as i parked up, the smell was really strong - but then before hand was only ever a slight smell -

when i serviced my car, i never had time to change the fuel filter so thats on the cards this weekend -

Will be getting vag com to it this weekend also -

anything i should look for if i have no joy after scan and filter change?

cheers

Think I've noticed a smell now and then. But only since I put the induction kit on a month or so ago ???

Again, I just randomly smell it, or it could be that I'm paranoid and just imagining it!

check your vac hoses and fuel lines into and around the engine.

my old cordy has this issue and I found fuel has been squirting out of a loose hose.

I found it by rushing out when i smelt it and checking around the engine, hard to find as the petrol evaporates quickly.

sounds like a leak somewhere, the fact its not so apparent on the move is just due to air changing so often. at standstill you get a more conentrated smell.

you didnt say if the smell is more apparent at standstill in or out of the car, i presume in the car!? does the smell not become so apparent if you turn the air to recirculation?
at first hand it sounds likea potential leak in the engine bay, or the fuel filter is a common issue. ( i dont know on the ibiza but on the leon its under the car under the offside rear door open to abuse from stones etc).

Had a look at the engine and noticed the injectors 1,2 and 4 are leaking silghtly - but number 1 has very strong smell of petrol -

are these known to damage/leak as I never come across it before(and done a search) -

new injectors/seals?

cheers

tried cleaning around the injectors and started the car - realised the pipe that feeds the fuel rail was spitting from there - fingers crossed will tighten it properly and all will be well
