Just had a chat with my broker...as I suspected my V2 date is estimated and not confirmed.

Order has been accepted but after asking him what does he have in stock...he only came up with 1 or 2 Skoda Superb options in petrol and hatchback. Somehow I am tempted!

They are nice care but not sure..same engine as the Formentor in my case and potentially less glitch free as the safety sensors are simply not fitted on this car.

It includes the virtual cockpit as well.

£330 over 4 years however is almost the same as PCP!!!

Got to be honest, Superb are good cars, BUT for me, I would only take one in TSi, 280 4x4 estate flavour. Anything else seems a bit too “mature” for me. And I’m getting on a bit. 🤣🤣

I was planning to buy 2-3y old Superb L&K 280/272 4x4. Newer ones are in luxury car tax bracket, so I only looked at older ones. There's not a lot of them on the market and finding one in preferred spec and getting test drive during Covid times, was not easy. In the end, I went to test drive L&K 210PS model and thought it was rather boring. Also, it reminded me, why I was tired of 5m long car and hassle of parking it at supermarket. And taking it to mountain passes with tight bends won't be fun either.

I actually never needed such long car, but unfortunately Octavia doesn't offer spec that Superb does. I wanted heated and vented seats, heated windscreen, steering wheel, etc.

To Be honest...the more i think about it the more it makes sense. That boot is massive, economy is slightly better and there is space for everyone. It is the Sportline with good spec too. Thanks to the chip shortage i am getting a good £2K more for my part ex as well so it might be possible for me to hand back one car and get another without any capital expenditure....not my first choice of car but it was always on the shortlist.

More decisions!

It'a great car as a daily. My friend is moving between Octavias and Superbs for years now, clocks miles up to around 150K miles on each and gets next one. And no, he's not taxi driver, he just drives a lot.

Like I said they are good cars. I was looking at them recently when my Octavia mk4 order kept getting bumped and bumped for a build date. What I did notice though, that I hadn’t before, was that quite a few reviewers reference the standard suspension (and this includes Sportline) as being very soft and this effects the cars ride over dips and rises. I was very surprised re the Sportline as thought the lowered suspension would be firmer, but I’ve watched at least three reviews which reference this in particular. If you can bag an L&K with DCC, I think that would eradicate the issue. Or just swap out the springs if you feel it necessary on a Sportline. If boot space is important, another great shout would be a late model Mk3 Octavia vRS 245 estate. A great looking car, decent money now the newer model is out, but without the flawed tech and with a mechanical diff which makes handling very very good. 👍🏼

Thanks @Agnes.Surrey and @Cupradev

We have digressed the thread a bit but appreciate the advice and feedback.

For me the softer suspension is a plus rather than a negative. It will be just a daily runner and the occasional week away and trips to airports with luggage ...when they are back on the menu!!

Will sleep on it tonight, maybe watch a review or two of the same spec car and see what the other half thinks as well. Neither of us is a fan of SUVs and the lower drive maybe be better actually.

Thanks!

No problem buddy. No one knows what you want / need better than yourself. I also believe these things happen for a reason. 👍🏼 Best to take your time and make a considered decision.

Hi I'm new here but seriously considering buying a new Fromentor possibly the V2 or VZ1. Would ideally go for the 4 drive variant as I live in hilly Yorkshire. I have seen a PCH or lease offer with a Deposit of £2500.92 and then 35 payments of of £277.88 with a processing fee of £199. This would be for the Cupra Formenter TSI 190DSG 4Drive V2. Does this sound like a steal or has anyone seen cheaper than this?

I currently drive a VW Tiguan R Line that is on a lease due to end at the end of August. Unfortunately their asking for silly money for me to get the latest Tiguan so as much as I dont want a different car I cannot afford to pay over £400 for it including a large deposit.

Thanks! Unfortunately for me the wife approved...but it is probably more to do with the fact that a decision has been made and it's a four year deal which means she won't have to listen to me about cars and build dates for at least 3.5 years!!!!

Will buzz the dealer tomorrow and see what he says.

For reference it is the Sportline Plus 1.5 TSI in black mettalic plus Virtual cockpit.

£330 for 6+47 and 10,000 miles per year. ( About £2k upfront)

Not sure it is the best deal but it is in stock at least at their dealership...I can have it next Monday if I wanted it!!!

It’s sounds like a great deal mate. I was quoted over that for a Superb from the dealer who I had my Octavia order with.
Superb lease deals are quite expensive, so your deal sounds decent. 👍🏼

Does not seem to be easy for me....while I was chatting to my broker...some other salesman at the dealership taxed the car as a demo last week and for reasons unknown to me....they can no longer offer it as a contract hire. ... hysterical laughing continues!!!

Leasing Options I assume? They have some great deals at the moment, I've just ordered a VZ1 245 DSG from them.

I doubt you'll get cheaper than Leasing Options on a Formentor right now but https://www.leaseloco.com is a good place to start looking for lease deals.

for my last three cars. Always very simple. On those occasions. Decide on a car. Agree the deal. Spec it. Order it. Timeline given. Timeline met (more or less or at least within a week). Delivered and happy. This year I found a deal. Spec’d a car. Ordered a car. Timeline given. Timeline elapsed without a build week being assigned. Estimated timeline not possible from Brand (Skoda). Cancelled order as “Stock” vehicle secured through broker. (Formentor). After two weeks had email to say my “factory order” had been accepted but no build week.
queried with broker who said the “stock” car had gone and that my order had been placed as a Factory order by default by the dealer.
Then told that the broker had secured a number of build slots and I could have one the remaining slots, but couldn’t have blue leather, had to have black. This I accepted and here I am. Waiting for an early July delivery to dealer for a hopefully mid July delivery to me. If all runs to plan, will have taken me nearly 7 months to secure a car.
It is what it is, but it’s a bit mad all the same. 🤣🤣
Listen these are all ”good” things to be dealing with in the world as it is, so I’m not complaining, but I believe the car industry is facing some monumental challenges at the minute which no manufacturer would have foreseen. I’m also starting to wonder about the impact on the logistics infrastructure and companies, who suddenly find themselves with wagons and drivers to spare as physically there aren’t the number of new vehicles entering the country right now. 🤔

I guess, I was lucky so far. Never had major delay or other issue when ordering cars and all came on time.

"I’m also starting to wonder about the impact on the logistics infrastructure and companies, who suddenly find themselves with wagons and drivers to spare as physically there aren’t the number of new vehicles entering the country right now. 🤔"

It will be like last year, when there was no cars to distribute or they couldn't be distributed. There's Jag and BMW logistic centre near my work. In normal years, before March registration date, there will be 7 BCA lorries first thing in the morning and more arriving and leaving during the day. They park on the road, so easy to count them. In 2021 there was one lorry in the morning and very low traffic during the day.

Even in normal time, some models were delayed due to lack of parts or production issues. I remember some Arteons coming after 9 months, E-Class which took almost a year to arrive, etc.

To summarise: it happens. If you need a car immediately, go and buy something from stock or used.

Thanks mate.

Just swapped my Cupra order to a rather standard SE Tech Skoda Superb hatch iV hybrid.

In stock here in three weeks!

The Formentor hybrid was also available in port in V2 spec but the boot gets a hammering in the Formentor hybrid form so decided against it.

Will be a good introduction to electrification I suppose.

Sorry to leave the Formentor club...I was never in it I suppose. Will keep reading however.

It’s a good car mate and an introduction to EV ownership so that will bring its own rewards.
Yeah Formentor hybrid boot is down to 380 litres I think, so no comparison.
The SE tech will still have plenty of kit.
I still contribute to the Skoda Octavia forum on Briskoda even though I cancelled my order in April, but I still like to see what’s goi going on over there. 👍🏼 So stick around and hope the three weeks fly by for you.

Has anyone had any leases through Nationwide Vehicle Contracts?

I am about to go through the application and the online reviews look good... but its always nice to have feedback from people who have gone through it themselves. The only issue seems to be delays, which is actually what I want as I need the car from November onwards.

£284 inc VAT p/m
10,000 miles p/y
£3400 Deposit
Solid White

I think this is a good deal?
