Forged refers to the way the wheel is manufactured, not its finish. What colour have they been anodised? If you could take a picture and post it up that would help.

will try and get some pics up asap.the wheels just look like normal alloy colour but was told they were anodised.someone else said the dont have any kind of coating on them and just need a good polish.i was going to give it a go myself but dont know the best way to do it.i stripped the pait which was between the spoke, now i want to polish the face of the wheel to a mirror finish if possible.have looked at a site (frost) which do a wheel polishing kit for £15 which comes with all you need.just attaches to a drill.not sure if this is the right way or not but was going to give it a go.ive tried using autoglm on a cloth and it just dont touch them.

For a proper polished finish it will take some serious elbow grease with anything other than a polishing wheel. I think they will need a lot of upkeep too, to stop them looking dull and corroded.

well lets just say id like a good shine then.at the moment they are very dull.so a polishing wheel would be the way to go would it? if i can get a good finish on them, what is it best to seal them with, wax or get them lacquered? any ideas on what wax or how much it would cost to get them lacquered?

I'm not sure, never done it myself so I'd suggest ringing someone who refurbs wheels to see what they say. I see you have posted this question on detailing world too - if you look in the trader's section there is a guy there who does amazing stuff with wheels. Give him a ring and have a chat - best to get the info straight from the man who knows!

If the wheels are anidised you will need o get ehm de-anodised before you try and polish them.
Anywhere that does anodising should be able to do it.
Anodising puts a hard coating on them and will be near impossible to polish.
I would recommend getting them done profesionally.
I know a good polisher but he is based in Devon.
Here's the website and you can post the wheels to him.

Give them a call but make it soon as they are going to Australia soon.
