forge TIP

Just fitted my forge TIP, had to cut abit off the turbo end so that i could slide it onto the turbo easier. Got it all fitted but Just looked and it is still hittting the metal water hoses on the right hand side, slightly squashing the pipe in. Is this how everyones is or does it need more trimming?

Id say if its squashing it mate you need to trim abit more off

It looks like it is yeah but very slightly, I have noticed it does spool up quicker now and the dump valve is louder but no increase in the turbo spooling up, sum people say that it makes a load of difference in sound to the turbo but none for me?! just wondering is this due to the pipe being tight up against the metal cooland pipes?

The pipe up against the pipe wont make much diference mate as it cannot be squashed that much. Id say take it back off and trim some more off then see what its like

Yeah will have to have another go at it. Booked a week off work to have a break of fixing cars and all i have done is played around under the bonnet on mine! Still getting payed for it though!

i suppose i arent getting the spooling of the turbo as i have a crappy venom filter on it atm, JR filter is on the way so hope that makes a better sound.

when i fitted my forge TIP i didnt need to trim it at all!

i removed a pin under the inlet manifold that fixed the water pipe, once i had done this it allowed more movement of the pipe and i just pushed the pipe over a little to the right to give me room! been fine since! try not to trim your TIP anymore mate.

tho i havnt noticed any difference due to me having a dodgy MAF at the time of fitting.

Ok sound mate, i got it fit aswell without trimming any at 1st by taking the pins off the bracket but then found it to be tight up against the pipes when the pins were back in so i then trimed abit. Doesnt look like it is squashing the pipe to much so i will leave it as it is.

yes mate i just left the pins out! its not gona go far!
