fitting help with LCR splitter on LC

Right, first you must measure and find the centre if the splitter, i measure the middle in between the two tabs devide by two in your head or on a calculator if your not great at maths like me, and mark the middle with some stripe tape or a thin marker that will wipe off, then you need to position the car on level ground, rig up a plum line (string and a weight) and tie it to one of the centre mesh holes on the front centre grill this will give you the centre and take out the guess work, now you need to make sure its straight in terms of back to front to do this i found the best way was to use a couple of stiff 3mm thick carboard pieces take out an arch screw at the bottom of the bumper/arch push through the card at one end about an inch from one end, put screw back in arch and do up enough to hold in place now with a spare pair of hands you can offer the splitter up and line it up with these references,

But first you need to prepare the splitter, you will need (A dremmel or hobby drill, hacksaw, drill, marker pen) ask for an adult to do the cutting for you lol just kidding.
flatten of the top of the litte tringular tabs all the way round and get a straight mark across the centre uprights the the side parts of the splitter essentially you want the splitter the same hieght all the way along so cut the tabs to suit the height and angle, now drill holes on every other triangle tab on the side sections.

Now offer it up with your aligning contraptions and drill a pilot hole into the bumper now screw in place, Simples!

You dont really want it solid on there in case you catch it if its a proper old job you will take your bumper out too, i tend to use them as a sacrificial aid when running really low you bash the splitter not the paint on the bumper, almost like a catfish's feelers lol hahah dont know where that came from im on nights forgive me :cartman:

Cheers for that captian. So i guess theres no cutting involved with length? it should sit flush on both edges of the bumper? Ill have to re-do it

^ so by that you mean just cut the two middle sections down to equal length? thats what ive done already.

What can i say, im a noob at this stuff :D

Cheers for that, ive cut the middles lower but i know on one side its overlapping the bumper a bit, however the middle is central? Do you know of any decent close up images of a LC with the splitter on so i know exactly how it should look.

my m8 tryed mine on his early 20vt y reg and the splitter was around 4-5" wider for is bumper, so i guess you would have to chop in half, it vertually looks a perfect fit up to my bumper 03 plate facelift

I know you seen the pic on fb but it's easy to explain ;) lol

In terms of fixings (screws) black cm long self tapping bumper screws found in halfords will do or for better quality buy a pack of the arch screws for the Leon from VW/AUDI main dealer with a torx head, they won't rust as easy either, proper job! :)

Cheers for all the info, however i still dont know if i need to cut anything in regards to length. My mate has a LC with the splitter on and it doesnt look like its been cut. Mine looks central but one side looks to over hang, im pretty sure it needs re doing
