Faulty Dump Valve Symptoms?

Can anyone please tell me the symptoms associated with a faulty dump/diverter valve???

irratic boost, juddering, too much whoosh chuff chuff when you lift off (sounds cool, but isn't)

hmmm, I'm deffo gonna stick the std bosch unit back on mine for a bit i think - if you recon the chuff chuff noise could be a faulty unit. Havent risked it yet but gonna try it now.

yeah you usually hear the turbo chatter on lift off.
