Fans not coming on

Recently, my LCR has started to overheat when staying still (first noticed it on the M6 in a gridlock), and it appears that the car is shuddering when trying to start the fans, but not actually managing to start them at all.

Is there anything simple to check, or is this going to cost me an arm and a leg at SEAT?

it could be something as simple as a temperature sensor or it could be much more serious. vag-com is your friend.

Fan Switch could be suspect...

Would any of those suggestions cause a vibrating and rumbling sound when the fans try to start though. Its literally shaking the car when the guage hits just above the half-way mark.

Can't see anything loose, or anything damaged.

Going to get a vag-com cable & software during the week.
