fan problem

my car (ibiza 1.4 cls 1995) started messing bout few months back i went out left my car after parking up and the fan carried on, nothing unusual. untill i came back to the car 2hours later and it was sstill going. got in turned ignition and flat battery. replaced that put a new thermostat in and it was ok for a few days. but now it wont stop at all so i have unplugged it. when i plug it back in it starts full power even when i have not driven it for a day or so. does any one have any idea what to do next?

something is 'short circuiting' somewhere. Have you checked all connections under that passenger glovebox, the fan resistor (block box). Also it might be an idea to check your controls unit too... mine's on it's way out. doesn't work on 1, have to select 2 first and then bring it down to 1, it's a pain. But yeah - you may have tried that... let me know

got other problems now, someone has told me my head gasket has gone to maybe time to say bye but i have done wel for 3 years with it only cost me £400
