There is definitely a 4 lead bridge, I got mine from VW!
This is the part number 038971782b
I never posted the guide up as the last person that spoke about it in another post about 3 months ago never confirmed that they wanted it. I think he lived near me as I offered to fit it for him FOC!
Remove the battery and engine cover.
Undo all the mounting points for the boost carrier pipe at the front of the block. Dont remove the pipe its not neccesary and its a bugger to refit.
Disconnect the fuel temp sender.
Pull the bridge connector away from the glow plugs.
Undo the securing clip which holds the bridge loom into the loom at the front of the block(behind the oil filter housing)
Cut away the tape which binds the bridge loom into the main loom and trace it back to the area above the gearbox.Make sure the 4 wires for the bridge connector are exposed.
Cut the wires for the old connector and pull away from the loom. Stagger the cut for each of the old wires, this will make sure that when you connect in the new bridge connector the connections are not bunched together.
Join each wire in the loom on the car to its corresponding colour on the new bridge connector. Bind in the new bridge connector loom to the loom on the car and fit the bridge connector onto the glow plugs.Dont forget to refit everything you have undone or disconnected. if you get stuck ring me 07793017921

Well guys thought id give an update on progress.
After been supplied with the wrong part i went back to the dealer and he said there will not be two looms on the same number and to check on the back of the one already in the car as it is printed on the underside.
To my horror the number is totally different 038 971 220 d
So back on the phone and it was with me the next day, I stripped out the battery and air box thinking if im gona do this job myself i'll do it properly, so ive stripped the harness back so i could use the supplied connector rather than splicing the wires.
After putting everything back together i cracked out the vag com to reset the warning light and so far so good, touch wood two weeks and no warning light .
once again lads thanks for all the advice dont know what id do without the forum as my local seat dealer is toss, wouldn't trust there mechanics to tie me shoe laces.
