Im a great fan of the smooth and subtle engine bays in the old golfs and would really love to do this to my LCR. But is it really practicle? I wouldnt know where to start or is it a lot of one off fabrication? Would i need to speak to a auto electricain or a body shop or both?! Any ideas of people i could speak to about this?

remove engine, and wiring - then start the work.....

not easy to do with a 'messy' 20VT running OE management

But has anyone done this to a leon yet or is it follow the principle and adapt it?

Will have a look over on vortex, cheers.

looks good on a mk1/2 golf, but not sure how you'd get away with much on a modern car ,with climate and god knows how many wires and cabls running about.
think thats why our cars come with great big plastic engine covers, hodes all the crap.good luck though scotty ;)

I know its not going to be 100% gone but id like to try and get rid of most of the clutter to give it a less spagetti junction look. Shame i dont have a bigger engine cover to try and hide it!

Anyone have a list of bits i can do away with? As i see some of the beezer boys lose the reservior etc

I looked in an old issue of Performance VW i have - theres a great example of an older Passat with a VR6. The engine bay is just perfect.

Theres also a mk.2 Golf which has also been cleaned. Sorry i've been searching for 15 mins now and I can't find anything at all.

Basically the most you can do seems to be removing the wiring loom, lengthening it and routing it through the chassis legs. Also I suppose you could remove the secondary air pump and plug it up. smooth and paint the engine covers and battery cover? or relocating the battery to the boot would be easy, but underneath the battery is not pretty ...

anyway if you want the issue i have is PVW issue 10, 2005.
