I actually think it makes the shift between 1st and 2nd far more notchy!

I love the feel of the short shift and all other gears and changes are good apart from 1-2!

James try shifting from 1st-2nd in race mode.

i sort of know wat u mean mitchy BUT i always expect a quick shift to be slightly more notchy so i think its ok!

one thing i have noticed and i rarely did it before... you know when u are in race mode lol and u go for a super quick gear change, despite the fact ur foot can be completely on the clutch pushed down it can make a slight crunch noise when u change because u have changed gear slightly too quickly and agressively.

well once in a blue moon would that happen to me with my standard shift... well with my quick shift its happened twice already!

but i think its because im putting the same force into the change as before... basically more practice and il be fine! :)

lol rob (stretch) actually did it today (crunched it) with his standard shift!

Anyone fitting the short shift, I know that Feel always said changing the gear knob itself for a heavier one (e.g. SEAT sport aluminium type) makes the throw nicer too. The extra weight of the knob (Ohhh err ;) ) makes it feel more 'positive'......but then again that's more money :)

Glad people are 'enjoying' their short shifters :D

Don't suppose you have one for sale Steve? :)

Nope never did that to my car just what I heard from Feel on these forums......he tried a variety of short shifters and gear knobs (Neuspeed, EIP and Dieselgeek) so probably has a good idea of what works best......I know he rated the EIP and Dieselgeek as the best he had tried.

yes i agree about changing the knob to a seat sport one (cost £80 fitted tho! )

that alone improves the feel of the change so to speak, but in conjunction with the short shift its great!

Had mine fitted today by BBT's

Felt pretty good on the way home although I was pretty careful with it to get used to change in shift

Side to side shift doesn't appear to have made it too extreme so that's :coolthumb

Dog bone mount seems good, bit more vibration when fans kick in but not too bad imo

Scotty

Just re-read this thread and see your not sure whether to go for the STS shift as well

I have and don't find it's too much. Steve at BBT's who fitted it said he couldn't understand why people went for the quick shift, but not then for the STS shift as well

Westec are currently doing a deal if you get both I think

I think you know what to do...;)

Steve? Do you mean chris or have they got a new fella in the work shop?

I was thinking maybe haveing it would make it toooo close as i shift pretty quick anyway.

Think i will get both and see, if i dont like it i can alwasy take it off and sell it on

Deffo Steve mate

Introduced myself to say cheers for fitting my stuff and asked if he was Chris as seen that name mentioned on here. Seemed a nice bloke

Good thinking on the STS  . That was my thought also. Shift action is now 'chunky' for want of a better term. Might get a different gear knob as that's supposed to make it a bit better according to some on here

Ah they have a new fitter then, that should make getting booked in easier.

Chunky sounds good to me! As i think the stock shifts a bit notchy anyway.

Yeah the gear knob is a chunky bit of kit, got the carbon fibre one on mine
