Morning all.
A friend of mine has a Mk3 golf with a Mk4 1.8T engine in it.
He recently had the alternator give up,but need to move the car and decided to jump start it,however it
wouldn't hold charge.he continued to try and jump it.on one occasion the booster cables
were put on the battery the wrong way round and started to smoke.
Could this have caused a power surge and cause the ECU become corrupt or burnt out??
Any info much appreciated.
