I can honestly say the Forge Split R still makes me smile. Ive taken the sound deadening off and the noise is quite entertaining. Definitly a woooshhh and a tishhhhhh.

Running Revo Stage 2, Smoothed Air Box, 80mm feed. Its all down to personal taste.

is the stuff under the bonnet just for sound deadening? doesnt it serve some kind of heat shield type purpose? if its just sound deadening I might take it off and have a listen.... :)

IMO, it doesn't protect your bonnet from heat cracks once you remove it!

Good point the 1.8 20vt lump gets very hot!!

I might take mine off at the weekend :) i got the cold side recerc kit and it puts the DV right near then front grill :D so might not make huge difference to me

i just put the BMC CDA on mine, hooked up with the spliter it sounds the nuts. essp when its only boosting up to 10psi after that its a bit quieter. Ive found tht you cant hear the spliter at full boost. I would say if your unsure if you want the spliter i wouldn't buy it only cos its about £130 alot of money if you deside you only want full re-cir. as far as i no the 007 is alot cheaper, but its your money matey ive been very happy with my spliter.

funny, i also got the forge dv 700p coupled with green cotton panel filter a couple of days ago.
can notice a slight but definite improvement in performance at certain points in the rev range, cant honestly say it sounds any louder at all, sounds slightly different i spose, cleaner, but the sound change is nominal at best.

good for me though, i didnt really want it to sound all loud anyway. well maybe a little bit louder ;) oh well, im happy!

For better sound of the Forge Split-R :
No need to remove the sound deadening or buy a DV relocation kit etc.

Do as I did ,
I made a hose to run from the valve to the front...
Blows out from there through the grille, and sounds great !

Dont get me started on the split r valve mate. Be a clever boy and put it back to full recirc and feel how much smoother and faster your car is ( just go out and try it and get back to me , thank me later )

I too can post the same thing twice LOL!!!

You mean putting the Split-R to recirc with the blanking plug ?
Or switch back to the DV007 ?

Dump valve noise

Don't know what the problem is. I have a Forge 007P, but put on "the other way round" which Forge say is fine, basically the pressure is on the bottom of the piston rather than the side. That make a hell of a noise when i let off.
