glad this has been brought up because next on my to do list was a aerodynamic ROOF BOX... NOT... i can understand everything else like the nice wheels, but the lcr already has good alloys which match the car and are a good set of wheels which sell for more second hand than most sets sell for brand new aftermarket.

i cant understand the roof box thing, maybe on an old vw beetle or golf.

id concentrate on performance and handling mods and few oem mods on the exterior, wheel refurb in different colour, lowered, tints HID lighting, etc. if dont have a remap already then get one, you wont want a roof box then"!

Well certainly not to my taste but each to their own. Why not sell the LCR and buy a 1.6 and do it? the cash you make can be put towards the mods. Seems silly having a performance car only to ruin the handling, acceleration etc etc
Whats with the thing on the bonnet though? What does it do? Is it to protect the paint?

As above.

Each to their own but don't think you'll find alot of fans on here.
I can appreciate the work, time and effort that goes into this but a car should be improved not destroyed. As above best off selling the LCR and buying a cheaper model as you not really going to feel the benifits of this car with extra weight and dodgy geometry.

There you go I can be subtle, first time ever;)

everybodys talking you out of this because you have a "performance car" ...what about that s5's and r32's that have been dubbed. not to mention the TT's. granted they all have rounded bodywork so it works better, but just because a car has a big engine doesnt mean it shouldnt have a theme, or be "race spec'd"

i agree with some comments about doing euro to a LC over an LCR, as it does work better because of the front bumper, but that doesnt mean it cant be done!

seach for RickC...EVERYBODY loves his car, thats a LCR with dub styling..

air-ride vs coilovers..somebody mentioned that you'll lose all known handling if you go for air-ride...WRONG! those people obviously havent read up about it enough, and are just going off what some people say! (thers a cheap universal kit going on edition 38)

do it mate! personally i HATE the race-spec styling, so to catagorise seat leons into this catagory, really gets my back up!

as for this that somebody linked to...i think it looks immense!!!

Got my car back again on friday as i had the car tidyed up a bit more and the grill/front bumper finished. Excuse the pictures, bit of an ISO fail. But you get the point.

Its not catagorising the LCR, its saying its styling as standard isn't the best platform to be messed about with to make Euro, LC is prob better, of even better, the money you save buying a LCR or facelift Cupra, buy an older one and spend the cash on sued interior and ultra smooth big bumpers.

The problem is the size of LCR's wheel arches and brakes. No matter how low you go, rims smaller than 17"s will have more space round them than a turd in the thames.
Plus your gonna catch the brembo's, unless you have massive spacers on the front.
It can be done, and i salute you for trying, but its not my cup of tea.

Not wanting to get into an argument about this but would like to be more informed on this set up.
Why does an air ride suspension give you better handling than coilovers?
I'd be surprised that the geometry stays within its settings during the full extent of the stroke of the air suspension. So fail to see how this would give better handling than a car corner weighted and corner balanced to the finest degree to give every last ounce of grip to each wheel whilst maintaining the maximum grip levels and full control of the car.
Why don't race cars run air suspension? What about high end luxury cars? They all run remote reserviored hydraulic systems.
The only car I can think of just now that runs air as standard is the Audi all road and it's not know for it for it's outstanding handling.
As you said I haven't read up on this set up, all I'm going on what I have learned about spring and shock and coil over suspension set ups. I would like to know more about this air ride systems as there isn't much about this on the Leon section that I have read.

It's practical purpose is to protect the bonnet from stone chips but as with roof boxes, it's become a styling thing for some. I'd personally recommend getting a 'bonnet bra' if you plan on doing any long journies on fast roads, then whip it off as soon as you park up, they really do help even if they do look a bit w@nk.

Personally I think air ride is cheating, your car should be as low as you can make it but still reman driveable, anyone can drive somewhere a foot in the air, park up and then slam it t the ground! The real art is dodging cats eyes and pot holes and making it to the show with scratches on your sump!

Think i sparked off a bit of a debate there like lol i do like air ride and i think that it goes really wel when you get to a show and put one wheel off the ground lol it can also be practiable for speed bumps but i also agree with the skill of trying to avoid scrapping when you have coil overs.

Plus i am a firm believer in scratches and wear and tear show that car gets used and dosnt just come out once in a while becasue afterall isnt buying a car you WANT all about driving it and having the experience every day? my Cupra R is covered in flys at the moment due to long distance driving but i am not the kind of person to go and clean it off straigh away i just leave it for the weekends lol.

Anyways for a first post it hasnt done to badly i dont think hahaha:D

why is it with this forum that when anyone ever says about doing something differant to everyone else they get told they are WRONG? when modding is about making your car personal to you and your tastes. Just think how boring it would be if everyone that had a LCR had it in black with the same wheels? ud get board so quick at a show. I say go for it man show the people that any style can be put to any car as long as its done right!

p.s. what width alloys are you lookin at coz i want to do my tolly euro'd but cant really find any with wide wheels

Sorry you see it that way.
Alot of guys on here are setting up their cars to have an improved feel over standard.
It's very difficult for these guys to see someone unimproving a cars feel for looks.
There are two schools of thought, one for style over substance one for substance over style. The problem is that the guys on here have been asked how 'They' feel about this and 'They' are answering how they feel of see it.
If you don't want peoples opinions then don't ask for them. This is not a very dub styled forum, there are others that are.
No one is saying the guy is wrong, there just saying what he's doing to the LCR is wrong in their minds.
At the end of the day it's his car to do with what he pleases, I'm sure it will be smart as when it's finished but not how I like to set up my car, horses for courses

But i thought this was a seat forum and that ALL seats are welcome! just because you want to do something differant doesnt mean you should have to go somewhere else. Or is this gonna turn in to a site where you can only do 1 sort a style and if you dont do it your banned [:@]
