DSG - yes or no

The best car invention since the wheel itself in my opinion. Can't fault it. Sometimesyou can catch it out when driving hard when it's in auto mode but really you should be using the paddle shitfters.

The twin clutch transmission is far superior to than those fitted in many super cars!

Enzo takes 150 milliseconds to upshift where as the DSG is a mere 8milliseconds...now you find me someone in a manual who can do that...:p

I've recently had the GIAC DSG remap done for my car and it has made a great transmission truly phenomenal:drool:

Gearshifts are crisper and up to 60% faster with the pedal to the metal. The manual mode has the auto shift up removed, launch control is enhanced up to 3700rpm, the clutch plates have extra bite due to the extra pressure applied by the oil (350nm to 500nm!) and best of all, the rpm limit is moved up to over 7krpm, which means I am getting the full benefit of the K04 turbo...............................Awesome upgrade[B)]

its a big no from me, although the DSG remap might make me like mine more

The diesel cars are quite good with DSG. Not exciting, but the box does ensure that you are in the torque band in sport mode. I've had two DSG diesels and they are more cruisers than sports cars when mixed with the DSG box. Then again, if you buy a diesel I'm sure that consumption of fuel was higher in a person's mind than out and out driving thrills.;)

It wasn't mpg as such, between home and work is the A1 ok its only 12 miles but the torque of the diesel was better than a revvy 1.8, i'm learning my lesson now hence looking for either a Golf GTi or Leon Cupra, i just cannot decide. Still I don know what i'll be having after the Golf/Leon, i'm going for a freelander 2 !

Has there been a mapping upgrade for the DSG 2.0 TDI? Mine is a 08 plate, and love it to bits! Only quirk is when slowing down say for a roundabout then want to accelerate and there is a slight crunch as it quickly finds the right gear and not what it was expecting.

Also, is there a way to reset the memory of the DSG?
