Mine is going into SMC Windsor tomorrow for various rattles and clunks plus couple of bits fallen off.

We shall see what they say. Rattly noisr 2nd and 3rd sounds like something is very loose. Bit of a worry

Ok, thought you ment pieces from the gearbox :p I went in with mine today. They had to compare the sound of mine with another car to se if the sounds are normal. I had to go back there now on thursday when they have another car with DSG in. There are only 8 (!) ibiza sc cupra/bocs registered in sweden so :)

The 1.4 courtesy car waqs quiter than my Bcc today just driving to and from work. not impressed with it. Its going back in again soon once some parts have arrived. Frankly not overall impressed with Seat or dealers or the rattly car of mine. 18 months to go. May as well live with it and chop it in for something else. AHve to say never had these problems with the Focus RS mk1 2 x ST170's and the ST2. Drive and forget about it until the service comes up on all of them.

After several weeks of waiting, Seat finally got back with the statement 'the noise the DSG is making is normal and it is - The nature of the box' and they were to take no further action with the issue!!
Obviously this was unacceptable and thankfully my service manager agreed with me. So he decided to get the car back on the ramps (under his own say so) to do some more tests, to go back to SEAT Technical with. He got under the car with his lead engineer and they could literally make the box 'rattle'! Then they drained the oil and found particles in it that shouldn't have been there. He went back to SEAT with this and they authorised a box change. Should be done by Wednesday next week.
I've now contacted SEAT cust serv for some form of compensation because i think it has taken the p#*s, over 4 weeks with no car in 6 months of ownership!! Probably getting my first service free.
Fingers crossed it is sorted by this time next week and i can get on with enjoying my car.....

Im going to chase Seat again. I have tried living with it and if your spending in the region of 17K on a car give or take then there is no way it should rattle going over speed humps and at low speed.Mine is going in again in 3 weeks for a sensor to be changed. While its there i am going to speak to the Technician again and also the bloke who sold it to me to make them aware I want it taken further. i want to take the technician out in it. He can listen while I drive. Looking on all the VAG forums it seems common to have rattle with the DSG boxes be it a 3.2 Audi TT or a Scirocco or our Boc's Cupras or FR's

not acceptable!

LOL, tbh I would agree with you chuck. As much as i love the dsg I do crave the excitement of changing gears myself.

does your click click click happen at 1,500rpm to 2,000rpm while pushing throttle lightly?

I have recently noticed a combination of rattles and clunks during gear changes and when moving slowly in 2nd and 3rd gears only (after finally getting rid of the creaking from the dodgy gearbox mount). I contacted my service manager and he told me there is a software update for the dsg which should resolve it.

I took my car in today and the the technician took it out for a spin, heard the rattling and clunking and decided that i needed the software update (if only it was that simple)!

After waiting 1hr+ the technician came back to me and said that the software is now up to date but the rattle is still there even when the car is stationary and with the ignition off!!!!! All he had to do to make the noise was to shake the car with the bonnet up. he is certain it is coming from the box and it is now looking like i will be having a whole new box fitted. :wtf:

like i posted here, there is a software update for quite a number of issues with the DSG! so its worth asking your stealer if it would apply to you.
