Drivers electric window wont go down using one touch.

I have just noticed that my drivers side window will not got down using the one touch but it will go back up with the one touch.

What can be the problem. It will go down if i keep pressing the button or hold it down. Somebody told me to keep the buton pushed up for 5 seconds after closing and then let go and push back up for another 5 seconds to reset the window but this has done nothing.

Any help with this is very much appreciated.

Vicki.

Try holding the button down to put the window down when at the bottom hold for 5 secs then back up and hold for 5 secs that should work.

Yeah its always been fine, just noticed it not working properly today. Dont know if it makes any difference but mines a 56 leon reference sport 2.0.
Would take it to the garage but I know what some can be like when they see a lady(lets rip her off and say it needs all these new things and its maybe just a fuse or something daft).

You could try this. If your car has remote locking hold the unlock button to open all the windows then hold the lock button to put them all up again.
See if the window in question works or not.

I have a very similar issue, where my drivers side will occasionally go down one touch but most of the time it wont do... but it will come back up with the one touch motion!

Really cant understand why it does this have tried all the resets, am going to disconect the plug tonight and clean the contacts to see if that works. Could be worth a try for you?

Wheres the plug and how do you get to it? Im going to give disconnecting the battery a go and see. Will disconnecting the battery upset anything in the car?
Kind regards,
Vicki.

What i mean by the plug is, under the switch on the main controls in the door panel. If you pop the switches out wiht a flat headed scewie and then remove the plug from underneath and give it a clean.

If you disconect the battery for longer than ten minutes make sure you take the car out for a good 30 minute run to pick up all the settings for the various parts on the car. Shouldnt give you any issues though.

lol, Will need to buy a haynes manual to work out how to get door card off. I am ok at these things as replaced my full front bumper on my peugeot but had a haynes manual. Wouldnt have managed without one.
Kind regards
Vicki

If you disconnect the batter make sure you have keys with you and not lying in the car. Just incase it decided to lock itself.
Leave the battery off for 5 or 10 minutes on connection and startup you will get the steering warning light and abs which will go off once driven about 10 metres and that's it.

You shouldnt need to take the door card off to get to the plug, just pop the switches out and the plug will come up with them. Just detatch the plug and then your laughing... :)
Give them a clean and then pop back into place.
