I think the components are great, and I've used Alpine speakers many times before because they are always a reliable and great sounding product.

In my opinion, I would always choose Alpine over Vibe, but then I have no experience in using Vibes products. Plus the ones I've shown you are less powerful than the Vibes you have found, but of course the power handling isn't everything...

If you do a quick google search on say 'Alpine or Vibe', alpine always gets a higher vote!

Hope that helped a bit :)

Alpine make decent stuff, Focal make awesome speakers and FLI and Infinity also make decent stuff. Go somewhere and ask about listening to some speakers. I think what music you like makes some sort of difference too. I mean i don't listen to much dance oriented stuff and more fast heavy rock so getting something with a faster bass response is going to be more up my alley than something that's better at a sustained bass response, least i think that sort of thing might make a difference OR i could be talking out of my ass. I'm sure someone better informed will pass judgement soon =D

I decided on a 10 inch sub in the boot, components in the doors and I am going to amp both from the advice you guys gave me! I may get some 6X9's for the rear as well if i think it needs it. Do you think i should bother soundproofing the doors and boot?

I'm running JL C5-650 front and rear. Got them at a very good price too. Running them off their 4 channel amp JLJX-360.4. With a JLJX-360.2 mono block running a 10W7AE sub.

Used to run alphasonic components in the front and some 6.5" in the rear. Running of a 2 channel rockford. That ment they where running at 2 ohms... Work well for a time about 1.5 years until they all decided to give up on me.

Well..finally got round to fitting the door components and sub at weekend (both amped). The only problem we encountered was due to running both the amp and components off the amp (4 channel) i only have 1 phono lead coming from the HU, whereas the amp has a phono for each channel, so at the moment i can only run the speakers OR the sub.

Will i just need to but 2 x adaptors (1x female to 2x male) or will it mean running another phono from the HU?

Hope this makes some sense
