I just had a 64 plate polo for 3 weeks whilst my Leon was in for accident repair... The polo had 600 miles on and rattled like nothing I've ever known. Leon is uber silent in comparison.

Hm... looks like people are getting used listening to The Rattles Symphony all the time...

An odd thing I noticed yesterday whilst hoovering the inside of the car... the gap between the door card and the drivers door is wider than the same gap on the passenger door and the two doors at the back. Not sure if it is only mine... I did have the door card replaced due to a faulty light.

When driving and the passenger door is rattling, if i reach over and put pressire on the door trim the rattle stops. Is this the same rattle everyone else has?

Yes same here. My driver's door has a slight rattle / vibration from somewhere near the top rear area of the trim. This stops when I push my elbow outwards, pushing the door trim firmly onto the door itself.

Interesting...spraying it down into the window hole?

If i push my door anywhere it stops the rattle so maybe this is different? For example i could push on the cloth around the handle and it stops.

i spray it anywhere where plastic meets plastic

i soundproofed both doors with foam and silent coat , to improve the acoustics which it does

its a shame with the leon just a little bit more thought at the quality control stage would have sorted lots of issues .

the speedo was rattling like a mother F***ker , taking it out showed plastic on plastic which is a rattle source , bit of felt and foam later no sound at all anymore , The A pillar clips and plastic rattle against the metal post tiny bits of felt here and there and no more sound

it`s well built but just let down with simple things which would have resolved silly annoyances

I don't have rattles anymore after the dealer changed the door card but I too used to press the card gently with my elbow to stop the rattle.

I used to have quite loud knocking noise when driving over a rough surface. I inserted some of those pads that you use on the furniture to avoid wooden floors being scratched in the gap between the door and the door card to fill it and it worked wonders so far.

So ive been doing some prodding of the passenger door and i think i might have found the source of the rattle. I have taken a video of it, hopefully you can hear that when you poke the card it makes a tapping noise (turn it up!). The drivers door does not do this.

Is this a fault anyone else has had? Is there a homemade solution like sticking some felt somewhere or do i need to go to the dealer?

There is a TPI for it fella, take it to the dealer where they will fit a kit or replace the door card. Just had mine done.

Excellent. New owner of a second hand mk3 so not actually been to my local dealer yet!

Im guessing a TPI is a recognised fault? IS there a number i need to quote?

Not sure about the number fella.
Just go and see them and tell them your aware of the door card issues and to fix it. They fit a "kit" to the door and replace all the clips, all the dealers know about it but they are not forth coming with information and TPI numbers.

apparently the TPI only applied to a range of chassis numbers and apparently my 2014 ST wasn't in that range despite having the problem!!! Perrys of Aylesbury managed to fix it though but now the back doors do it!!!!

These door cards are built from lots of sections welded together more than likely the sticky back foam I fitted stopped mine rattling.

I have a 2.0 TDI LEON FR and have rattles coming from both doors (worse on passenger) and from the dashboard. I also have an issue with the driver window which has already been back this week for a repair which never fixed the problem.

I have only had the car just over a Month and I wish I had never bought it now, rattles and noises are not acceptable in any car and Manufacturers should be looking at these issues more seriously.

I will be contacting SEAT customer service to voice my frustrations, as to whether I get the problems sorted is another thing.

Poor show SEAT:(
