Guys
I used this guide, http://www.ottawa-vdubbing.com/forum...ic.php?t=13397 to do it today,
why don't you just go on an in between torque setting, they are only suggested settings, i always go a tiny bit higher, a few NM just to put my mind at ease and my car hasn't fallen to bits yet, touch wood.

This is the guide I was referring to...

This might be a silly question but does a higher torque setting mean there will be more vibration? I would like to avoid that if possible.

DPJ, why did you change? Vibration? What settings did you have before?

I used the setting DPJ just listed and found them to be perfect for me, i also increased my idle to 800rpm to avoid vibrations.
The compression bolt should be 12ft-lb and yes the tighter the compression bold is the more rigid the whole dog mount will be, this would suggest more vibration.

But hey, get the bushes on with the recommended torque above, run it in for about 200 miles and if you are stilll getting vibrations then reduce the torque setting by 1 or 2 ft-lb and see how you go then..

The bolt that holds the bushes into the mount is the one that is critical.

If that is overtightened you will have issues with vibration.

The stretch bolts into the subframe could be fubar if the gun was set too high.

Dog Bone Mount - Does it need to be insurance declared

just a quick one.

Are people declaring their uprated dogbone mounts/bushed with their insurance companies?

Should I be?

Please advise.

can someone confirm the torque settings for a dog bone mount fitted with powerflex bushes please? Powerflex don't seem to state anything so I guess standard torque settings?

Thanks

I now use the stock settings
Mount to subframe 20NM + a further 90 degrees
Mount to transmission 40NM + a further 90 degrees

and support bolt as above. (45 NM)

The support bolt being the horizontal bolt that holds the bushes into the dog bone?

The bolt shown below:
