There's no F in Quality..
Bolts required:

2 x N 10268302 (mount to chassis)
1 x N 10246603 (5-speed gearbox - smaller mount to transmission housing)
or N 10246604 (6-speed gearbox)
1 x N 90597001 (5-speed gearbox - longer mount to transmission housing)
or N 90597002 (6-speed gearbox)

Can't find the Part Number for the stretch bolt that goes through the middle of the two bushes...... anyone ???

On the fitting guide supplied by Andy j the guy changed his tickover to 800rpm and got rid of the vibration, obviously this can only be done if you have vag-com and he tried the half OE and poly and found it worse so went with full poly, he also suggested slackening of the compression bolt slightly, not sure if this is a good idea or not anyone want to try it and report back:D, i will be fitting mine soon and i think i will go the route of raising my tickover and see how this goes.

We do fit a lot of the Powerflex dog bone mount bushes, most people are really happy with them on how they change the feel of the car.

But some people can find them to be a little stiff - all down to personal preference.

The only problem with the stock OEM mounts is they go soft very quickly which causes excessive engine movement in turn can cause problems such as a cracked downpipe, blowing turbo to manifold, turbo to downpipe gaskets with the extra stress.

Not only that to say they are only £15.93inc VAT it is a worth while modification.

I fitted the forge dogbone bushes in the summer, yes it vibrates a little more, but for me it is well worth it. The car is so much easier to drive smoothly now, with no on off throttle jerkyness.

I think I'm going to have to try this mod. Since the remap I'm suffering with masses of wheelspin, especially in the current climate. Clive Atthowe took me out in his demo Cupra R with Powerflex dog-bone mount yesterday and the vibration wasn't *that* bad. Only really annoying at around 1000rpm, as others have said.

The question is, which company's mount do I go for?!

Mike,

Do you guys replace the centre bolt that goes through the rubber mounts, or do you reuse the original ?!?

Cheers,
Andy

There is no need to replace the bolt if it is in good condition as it is not a stretch bolt.

Obviously if the bolt/nut is damaged then it will get replaced.

Mike

Sorry to resurect an old thread, but after driving my LC with the dogbone mount for over a month, my opinion on it has changed

I didnt get on with it at first due to the vibration but it has really calmed down a lot. Infact it's hardly noticeable [B)] and it's not just me getting used to it either, although i have changed my driving style slightly to avoid the low rev rumble :D

Anyway, as far as cheap mods go you were all right. It's ace!

And for the record. It's not often that you hear a Yorkshireman admit he was wrong. Lol
