Just read this...

Sorry to hear it, yes I can relate to it Alex, with my other cars i've had in the past, you throw money at it, but it just keeps taking more.

You'll always get parking dents, its extremely frustrating, but some people just have no respect for other peoples property, and short of wrapping the car in cotton wool, you just gotta accept it :( It winds me up all the time, but now im not so bothered as I know its just part and parcel of owning a car.

It's completely normal to be as passionate about things as you are.

Has the temp sensot been fitted yet?

Yeah all fitted and cost me £55 and its not made any difference

I went for a drive last night and gave it a proper run about five times

1st time - It went to about 5000RPM-5500RPM and pulled back

2nd time - It went to about 5000RPM and pulled back

3rd time - It went to 6000RPM - 6500RPM and felt ok

4th time - It went to 4000RPM and pulled right back

It didnt feel itself the whole time to be honest

Whats SO frustrating is it was fine about two weeks ago, i had the 60,000 mile Service, Cambelt, Tensioners & Water Pump done, then a Bottom Hose replaced and then i had it Rolling Roaded and they said how well it boosted right the way through, there was a perfect line on the graph

Now its not right and i just dont understand it, i can only think that there is still a problem with one of the hoses

Heat?

Do some logging with vag-com :)

I have done LOADS of logs and got these fault codes:-

1. 17965 - Charge Pressure Control: Positive Deviation

2. Temperature Sensor Intermittent

The Temperature Sensor has been replaced now and still the same

The heat wont make any difference as i was going fast and also on the Rolling Road Day i think it was probably one of the hottest days of the year so far and my car was running better than ever

It just doesnt make sense, this is why i was thinking it could still be the hoses?

Its possible that you have a boost leak somewhere.....might not just be that lower pipe.....

Have you got a standard DV on the car?

I have got a Forge007P and a going to try and get a Service Kit for it! Also the vacuum pipe attached to the Dump Valve is slightly worn, its not that old (only been on about three months) but it has a few cracks in it, they are only tiny but it doesnt take much, does it?

When it pulled back last night, it was the same feeling as when it did it and the hose had popped off its just this time i didnt see that it had visibly popped off but it may be hidden and have slipped off a bit from underneath which it did before too, i wont see unless the car is jacked up, its not easy to just take a look

I need to take some time to take all the hoses off and clean them and then re-fit them but i cant do anything until after my holiday now

Do a leak down test on the dump valve, it's pretty simple to do. I've had mine the same length of time i can't see any crackes forming, thats odd..

When i say logging i don't mean checking fault codes, you need to take it out on a run and do some realtime logging.

The type that go into excel and then post them on there, you will be able to see what it's doing boost wise. Failing that, take it to a specialist and have them do it.
