Scratchs, Swirl marks, stone chips, parking dings dents, corrosion, things going wrong come hand in hand I'm afraid no matter how well you look after it.
**** happens.

frustrating, depressing - yes but unless you wrap it up in cotton wool for 365 days a year and dont drive it its gona happen.

I learnt a long time ago not to get wound up by such things - it is fundamentally a tin can on wheels at the end on the day (or in my case a tin can with scaffold tubes chucked in) that gets you from A to B.

This is the trouble about being enthused about your car, you either take it on the chin or drive around in a £200 ford fiesta:(

Harsh it may be, but i pulled it because i was asked to .

yes everyone is entitled to their opinion, I posted mine.

what is being discussed is frighteningly close to what is wrong with society today :(

Without wishing to be rude, if the car is causing you stress and problems to the extent your worried about going on a long drive in it incase it breaks down you should get shot of it.
First and formost a car is there to do a job, to take you from A to B sometimes via C. If its unable to do this properly, then you should get rid of it.

Keeping an car which keeps having bits going wrong on it going, is expensive. Older cars are much more likely to have bits failing due to wear and tear, and with them not being in warranty you'll have to fork out when bits go wrong.

I loved my S4, but it had done 67000 miles, and a turbo had failed. To replace the turbos, was going to cost about 3000quid, of which over half was labour charges.
I had a difficult decision to make, over the previous year I'd spent lots on the car (Remap, coilovers, porsche brakes, full milltek, cambelt+waterpump service, two minor services, castrol srf brake fluid), but at the end of the day, I want a car which is going to not cause me hassle, and be something I could rely on.
In the end I took the decision that I wanted a newer car with manufactuers warranty so I could have peace of mind, so I sold it and got the CSL.

I now wish I'd bought the CSL a year ago and not spent (wasted?) the money modifying the S4.

What I'm saying is whilst your car is a treasured belonging to you now, and you're very proud of it, if its letting you down, its really not worth the hassle.

Sell it and get something else, something with a few less miles on it, with a manufacturers warranty, and spend your time polishing that instead.

Less Stress = Happyness. Avoid stress whereever possible.

IIRC i actually put in my first post that i didnt really want any shirty comments etc

'Im not doing this thread to have people tell me im wrong or i have done things in the wrong way, im doing it for help so please dont give any shirty remarks as its not fair'

I agree an opinion is good but not when its the wrong time i just wanted peoples help

I know that things happen, i was merely saying i feel i have had more than my fair share and was looking to vent, perhaps this is the wrong place or perhaps it isnt! At the end of the day who better to share this with is people who really understand what its like to love their car?

What i also said was the car was going wrong because things were being changed not because its :censored:

cupra R con - I dont know what you wrote in your first reply but i believe it to have been harsh from the comments that have been made since (i may be wrong so forgive me if i am) and going on the responses you have given on this one and from previous posts in other threads that you have made about me/towards me i dont know why you have such a dislike for me?

Im sorry if the reason for this thread has been misconceived as much as it has...i was just wondering if people have had the same type of problems as me not to be told/made to feel that the way im feeling is wrong

Anyway my car was running fine last night, the clips are still on nice and tight and i gave it full boost a couple of time and she seemed like before so thats good, lets hope it stays that way

Also she is in the garage having a new Temperature Sensor fitted ;)

Is there two sensors for the Ibiza Cupra or one? I know there is a Black one and a Green one and they dont make the Black one anymore so the upgraded one is the Green one, is that right?

If its the coolant sensor in the pipe then theres only 1, the green is the revised one.

It should be done early on so i will take her for a drive tonight and see how she feels

I did get the fault code for Temperature Sensor - Intermittent Signal come up again last night so i think its a good idea its being replaced

How come that can affect it on idle when you first start it up? Is it just when its cold it can make it kind of lumpy?

Was the first problem with mine, random temp guage and rough idle. Took 2 secs to change in work car park :)

See the temperature gauge stays at about 92 and it hasnt been random? Would that mean thats it not that or could it be because its just intermittent?
