Both of these lights have been going on and off for a few months but today driving home all of a sudden I lost 50% power and the yellow coil light came on.

My Leon is a 2008 FR and was remapped about 18 months ago, I phoned a mechanic and appartently my car has gone into 'limp home mode' which I did!

It's still under warranty so I will ring the garage tomorrow but does anyone know what would cause this, do I need to get my remap reversed so it's not detected?

Thanks

I'm kind of new to this forum but I would suggest if you look in the TDi section you will find the answer, probably a fault with the filter/ needing cleaning

Either DPF has had it or one of the Sensors on it has been blown!

A bad remap can cause this as the PD170 DPF is so sensitive that a Smokey remap will fill it full, DPF Isnt covered under warranty so if its gone then look forward to a new one at like £1200

Dealers can do a forced Regeneration but it depends on how full it is,

There is the option of having the DPF Removed like i have but at the moment VOSA are in the process of changing the rules and it looks like its going to become Illegal to remove them in the next 2 years

any idea how much it would cost to remove it, will be pretty annoyed at the company who remapped if it is knackered.

It might be a bit late now but when i picked mine up 5 weeks ago, the dealer told me that if the light comes on to run the car hot at high revs for a few minutes and it will burn the soot off. Bare it in mind for the future. If this is the first indication from the warning light then i would question whether there is a fault for not warning you earlier.

DPF Light + Coil Light is the big warning

Well I went to the dealer this morning without an appointment but they agreed to look at it for me, I waited 3 hours fearing the worst but they found that it was a faulty gas sensor which they replaced for free :funk:

I drove to work in 4th gear at 70 for about 15 miles just in case there is anything in the DPF and I will do this again on the way home. The problem i have is that I spend about 2 hours a day stuck in traffic hardly moving so I need to make sure I have a good blow out from time to time

Glad to hear you got it done for free.

Use the blow out time to enjoy yourself lol.
