All VW AG CR engines have DPFs installed.

Personally I always use shell fuel as I've seen numerous issues with; asda (damaging injector seals), Tesco (using contaminated petrol and diesel), morrisons (shitty biodiesel blocking injectors).

I used to use shell with ecomax then I changed to the v-power nitro plus Jesus juice as it had produced the best results thus far.

Just adding fuel the fire:

Performance fuels do work, but I think the additive will just be cheaper. V power etc are around 8p per litre dearer than standard fuel, where as additive worka out about 1.8p per litre.

So added rhino today for the first time, first note, it stinks like mad and is so strong its hard to shift the smell if it gets on anything so don't spill any and don't get it on your seats. I've done a 100 miles today so far and do actually think the engine tone has changed ever so slightly, it seems a bit deeper but quieter. The engine feels slightly smoother too, and this is most noticeable by the reduction in vibration through the accelerator pedal. The biggest thing I have picked up on which I think is partly how busy then roads are today but for most of my journey I only had to apply the smallest amount of pressure to the pedal to get the amount of drive required which seemed far less than normal, I'm talking mm's of pedal travel to the point my leg wasn't used to the position so my muscles were twitching adjusting to it. Also today I saw 43mpg on the average trip for the first time ever. Its too early to tell if it will make many real difference but I am hopeful and will update with any findings in a few tank fulls

Been using Bio diesel for last 7 years now, mostly 100%, never had any problems with my fuel (20p) ltr  Bioman1966

Just finished my first tank, compared to my last two tank fulls I am up 3mpg and got 10-20 miles extra. Will continue to update until the bottle is gone

I used to use this on my MK4 Golf and found the same results as you, quieter smoother engine, slight improvement in MPG and also quicker warm up times (which would account for the improvement in MPG).

I then tried it in my Lexus IS220d and didn't notice much difference at all. I'm going to use it in my Leon soon after i finish the tank with Redex

Ive had good results with Forte with my old leon when it failed emissions MOT time, and passed after using a bottle of it.

Also Id never touch Tesco own brand fuel due to it screwing up my parents old car, kept getting clogged up with carbon when it was used on tesco fuel for months at a time.

I run a mix of shell and Sainsbury's diesel and tbh i don't much difference between the two i know supermarket fuel has different additives to the branded stations it has been that way for many years they used to have a higher water content too i don't know if this is still the case. I used to put some Morrison'sfuel in when i first got this car it is the first derv ive had , Morrison'swas closest and more convenient to where i work i know Morrison's fuel used to come in the texaco tanker when i worked for them but i did notice my cr170 didn't run very well on it at all so i stopped using it , i have also been away recently in the car and done over 1000 miles on topaz fuel i filled up with shell on Thursday and there is a definite difference in driving it the car feels so much better , not sure wether i can justify the extra cost of shells posh stuff though at 8p a litre extra . As for diesel additives ( the reason this thread was started ) no idea , not a clue , never used an additive in 21 years of driving :)

Try diesel rhino with normal fuel, it works out about 1.8 per litre Instead of 8p per litre and is will give you better results
