My hesitation is hardly noticable when the car is warmed up, but it is just plain rediculous when cold, like it's running on 3 cylinders.
And it's permantently down on power.

My Experience

Car used to stutter like hell, On an average 2 hour Motorway drive it would stutter 50+ times, 6 mile drive to work it would stutter 15+ times

Fitted the EGR Gasket and that reducer the stuttering by about 50%

EGR Delete pipe fitted and ...... Not stuttered once since

so could be the EGR valve sticking or getting clogged? which could be why the £2 gasket trick works for some?

anyone changed an EGR valve or know how much one is?

or how much is the EGR delete pipe and where can I get one?

New EGR is like £150+, EGR Delete is about £70 (you can either put up with the ECM light or get it mapped out)

EGR is part of the whole system, if you block it up the exhaust gasses wont be able to get out and Booom goes the engine

The EGR Delete pipe needs to be fitted in its place, then you remove and block up the EGR Return pipe

Mine only does it once warm (which again, points to possible DPF).

It looks like you can add me to the list of angry people with this problem, but at least I have some things to talk to SEAT about when it goes in on Wednesday.

I have to admit, from reading about them, both the DPF and the EGR seem to be very expensive and fragile, and provide little positive gain to the owner of the car. Typical, really.

I've just had Campaign "23J6 Piezo pump injector elements" done yesterday and it seems to be fixed. I'll have to use it for a few days though in case they just did an ecu reset or had the battery disconnected for a while and thats masking it.

New injectors DIDN'T FIX THIS ISSUE as suspected. The battery disconnect/ecu clear must have cleared the issues till I did a bit more miles. The problem is still there, and seems to get worse the more miles I do.

I might try disconnecting the battery on a weekly basis till I find the real issue.

Same here, I'm beginning to suspect the DPF more and more though because I've done quite a lot of short journeys over xmas and it's been an absolute nightmare! Ran a forced regen through VCDS and it was great for a few days but then back to normal and now the bloody DPF light has come on for the first time in ages! 20 mile run down the motorway didn't clear it this morning so looks like I'm going to have to force it tonight again! :(
Back to my normal motorway driving this week though so will hopefully get better.

Seriously though, the whole DPF design and concept on this car is completely flawed! I think VAG should be reported to VOSA for it.

It's ALL DPF's to be honest, they are rubbish.

If you do another forced regen and it clears surely that proves it's the DPF?
Let me know how you get on pls.

Well on the way home the DPF light went off so I haven't done a forced regen.
AJB is yours definitely the same as my problem? Low on power, sometimes (but only sometimes!) car shudders like hell at idle, hot exhaust fumes, jerky acceleration at times (but again, not always)??

Mine seems to go into a "mode" when it's doing it, like it's regenning, but it's far worse than what anyone else seems to experience, plus it does it at 750k revs rather than 1k and don;t get DPF light etc.

When i had a DPF, Regen used to increase revs to 1K, if you where driving the car at the time it would feel like it had no power

The Jerky launching and Stuttering where fixed with EGR Delete, Cant tell if my car is shuddering at idle because of the solid engine mounts, instead my whole car vibrates :cartman:

So glad I got rid of my FR tdi lol.

I think that VAG should have to pay for everyone to have a DPF delete :D!!!
