wouldnt be surprised. says a lot about speed bumps when mines standard ride height. Theres 3 speedbumps round the corner for me, and anything other than an slow crawl, and my front splitter scrapes

I know i've never grounded the underside of the car over a speed bump so i guess it must be previous owner. Its always pulled to the left so that might explain it

Dave have you ever used TSR recently to do any work? If you ever find Taunton Seat's prices a little steep, try Yeovil Seat

Hi mate, not used TSR before and the last time i used Yeovil seat a couple years ago, their courtesy car was an R reg kia....

Taunton Seats prices arent too bad (normal dealer pricing anyway) but I get discount on labour anyway because the car is over 3 years old (plus its just round the corner from where i live, so its convienient)

I wouldn't choose TSR to do work on your car either! Experience talking here.....

You could just do the work yourself Dave.... :p Or get a private garage to do it. It's normally alot cheaper on Labour prices.

Try Audi 4 U in Bridgwater. They do all the work on my car that I either can't or don't want to do, and have always given top service. They're Revo agents too...

its a boost gauge, not got an oil temp yet. debating whether to get an oil temp or something else that could be more useful?

I know it's a boost gauge dong 'ed! I've got the exact same one in my car!

But if you want an oil temperature gauge, all you need to do is get an oil temperature sender unit that replaces your sump plug (which I have and will be willing to sell to you. :D)

I'd have an oil temp gauge over an a/f gauge myself. Ash, how come you haven't fitted an oil temp gauge if you already have the sender? I've been reading around here and it seems that a sandwich plate allows you to fit an oil temp gauge, and also an oil pressure gauge at a later date if you want.

Cos I've never actually got round to changing the sump plug for it! And, the thread on the temperature sender sump plug is shorter than the standard one, so didnt want to fit it just cos I was unsure about it! But enough people on here seem to use them. And I'm winding up spending on my car now anyway....

just a quick update ref the boost gauge (and some pictures of the fitting)

I decided to do it in the dark (wasnt the best idea as it took twice as long) but managed to get it done before the weekend. This was my makeshift lighting!

anyway, i thought i could get to everything just taking the side of the dash off like below:
IMG_0377.jpg

but.....i couldnt, so after i lost a bit of patience, 15mins later.....

After a lot of scratches and frustration, i managed to get the tube for the boost gauge through the bulk head via the same gromit as shown in pabs guide. Then came the wiring.
I decided to solder the wire into the light switch block. wasnt much fun in the cold at 11pm...
first had to strip the existing cable which was fiddily:
IMG_0382.jpg

then make a rather messy attempt at soldering together, did the trick though:
IMG_0381.jpg

(sorry for the crappy quality, iphones dont like the dark)

I used the FPR to connect the other end of the tube to.

and this is the finished job, taken when i got home earlier today:

Also did some logging today, results in this thread: http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=245911

Also when i dropped a screw under the carpet, i found a spare metal foot pedal under there lol. looks brand new!
