After a few people have asked...
So here is the story of my grey ph1.
Purchased back in 2013, in exchange for my horrendous A3 3.2. It was back in my type of car.
Spec then was
Jenvey 48's
Piper cross filter
428 cams
Arp big end bolts
Ktec super sports exhaust with decat
But sadly this engine had been cooked on the dyno by TDF, and it was apparent all was not well with it (using a lot of oil and smoking quite a bit) at this point a supercharger kit came up for sale with a knackered charger. A deal was done and I was then on the lookout for a new charger, one popped up on eBay and I bought it.
I then had an engine provided with the car that I dropped in at the same time as doing the supercharger conversion. Sadly this engine was also no good, after 100 miles it had used as much oil as the last one so it came apart. This then showed 2 pistons with cracked ringlands. 2 new pistons in and away we went.
Did all my mapping on the road with a friend, which spent several evenings like this:
With 500 miles on the clock of the new engine it was down to the south west rolling road day where it made:
Not bad!
Slowly I kept grinding out the restrictor to give more boost.
A few track days thrown in for good measure..
Then on a meet the supercharger started making some peculiar noises. Back to base found that it had pumped all it's oil to the reservoir, but not drawn any in. That's the end of that then.
So I then did this.
And a bit more.
Which resulted in this
Few evenings of this
Along with a few other bits:
Quaife diff
Resulted in this:
A days mapping with chip...
I was caught off guard here.. This is the "oh you're taking a picture" face.
Quite compressed, but that's the run down of it.
