Hi everyone,

I have a 2007 Leon Cupra with 125k on the clock. The car was used mostly on relaxed motorway commuting and no track use no tuning etc. The (stock) rear shock absorbers finally gave up and started leaking slowly.

Instead of replacing with OEM, I bought a full set of shocks+springs from ST suspension (Weitec rebranded by KW).

Awesome code no: ST-SUS-LEON1P

I would like your opinions on whether I have to replace the top mounts/bearings front and shock mounts rear when I install the new parts. The car does not knock or anything-it feels OK but maybe I am just used to it.

Also, if I decide to change the mounts, go for OEM or the SKF's I found online?

Front
SKF VKDA 35122 T

Rear
SKF VKDA 40124 T

I am totally unsure what to do so any feedback would be appreciated!

Thanks a lot!

Hi,

Thanks for the reply - I decided to change the top mounts but now I am more confused:

1. should I change only the fronts or the rear strut mounts as well - the rears don't seem to have any rubber parts so maybe there's no need

2. Can someone provide me with the OEM numbers for the mount and bearing or a strut mounting kit containing both. What is most confusing is that the parts listed on eurocarparts for example have a note that says "for vehicles without sports suspension".

Anyone knows what is this supposed to mean? What will be the difference in the mount of the strut if it is a "sports" strut?

Thanks in advance - any help would be greatly appreciated

If you are taking the struts off, replace any mounts for them. ECP have the wrong top mounts listed on their website, try a local parts supplier who may have them in stock.

Hi, thanks for the reply!

All the websites I have checked have the parts listed as "not for vehicles with sports suspension". If anyone has a clue what this means please let me know.

Replies from members that have uprated their cupra suspension would be greatly appreciated.

I guess I have to go with OEM...

Thanks a lot!
