Cupra top speed - unlimited

Has anyone any idea just how fast the Cupra would go if not limited to 155mph?

Also how easy would it be to remove the limiter? Drivers in Germany might be interested!

heard of a few MK2 Cupra R making 178 GPS speed in germany

Was the Mk2 limited then? I thought it was just naturally limited to 155mph

Nah electronically limited.. i never tested mine before mapped but I know the APR mapping removed it

Unlikely to ever find out what the top speed is anyway, even in Germany on the Autobahn you're unlikely to get a clear enough run to find out. I think night time is your best bet and I wouldn't want to be doing 155+mph in the dark.

30-130 day on an airstrip has a top speed run also

I've done one top speed run in my mk2. Was in the dark but an open empty road. Only done it the once and will never do it again probably. Was pretty stable as well. I'm amazed the mk3 can put anywhere near those speeds Andy.

MK3.. Jordi Gene on the straigt at the ring looks to be doing about 240kmh (by looking at the clocks and looking at mine) which is about 150mph

In a side note; you'd have to do it during the day in Germany as the speed limits come in force after 10pm I believe

270 is pretty damn quick anyway. More than fast enough

That's speedo readings, not accurate. IMHO, unrestricted it'll struggle to break 160.

I read somewhere that the unlimited top speed was 170MPH.
