Evening all,

I had my cupra 300 mapped recently with a home tune tool (dimsport) and decided to go to the local airfield to try some 1/4 runs with the draggy box.

My first run I got to a speed and the car completely stopped accelerating like hitting a brick wall, started going again then brick wall again.
Tried another couple of runs which were fine and pretty impressive actually.

I scanned the car with OBDeleven and found this code. Has anyone had this code or any idea what could be causing it? Do the ea888 cars have issues with fuel pressure regs? I saw a site recommending changing them as they fail.

my googling has been pretty fruitless as it seems to keep bringing up issues with mk5/6 platform cars for some reason.

Fuel cuts? Try to see if there's a big difference between requested and actual fuel pressure when it happens.
I've no idea how good a home tuning tool can be and what it lets you customize, but as you increase boost it's necessary to increase the fuel pressure as well.

Yeah seemed like a fuel cut to me. Perhaps home tune tool was the wrong wording, it’s flash tool similar to what Mountune or IE supply for you to upload their map to your car.
I have asked the tuner for advice but no reply as of yet.

What happens when you flash it back to stock and do the same pull? The error message is a fuel cut indeed. Might be that your pump is not delivering what is requested, which can be either a possible issue with the pump or with the tune

Haven’t flashed the original map back on but it never happened before I flashed the modified file on. Oddly I done another couple of runs and it didn’t do it again.

I wouldn’t expect the car to have any issues supplying fuel for a stage 1 map with 65k miles on it. I only had 2 bars of fuel in the car but that shouldn’t cause issues on a modern car.

next step is checking fuel requested vs actual but that won’t be till the weekend.
