When my car is hot sitting still at idle there seems to be a judder coming from the engine, feels almost like it is misfiring, rev counter doesnt move, but when I open the bonnet the engine can be seen to move more excessively than I would have thought is normal every few seconds, which coincides with the judder which can be felt inside the car! :(

Seems to do it worse when the car has been driven hard and then stop, and as car cools it gets less severe! Anyone got any ideas what the problem could be???

Cheers Folks!! :D

My TDI Sport (130) used to do exactly the same.
If I very lightly touched the accelerator (so lightly that the revs didn't actually increase) it went away, I just got used to doing this whenever I was sat at traffic lights.
I did try increasing the idle speed via vag-com as a crude fix, but IIRC it didn't work, was only with the tinest throttle request that it stopped.
