Had my first track day at Castle Combe today, the car rocks! Grid full of Scoobies,Evos etc, I was nervous as hell! Tell you what, 4wd ain't what it's cracked up to be (on a race track anyway), my mate was in one and it pushed in the slow corners so he was no better off than me, BUT I wasn't losing 30-40% of my power in the transmission! Only car to pass me was a 650 bhp Evo, he could afford to lose a few ponies, but man was he on it, 4-wheel drifting everywhere..... People watching commented how quiet my car was compared to the rest, sound-check man said it was quiet as a mouse! Only Cupra there sadly, just got to get some Brasso on me blue brake discs:(

Car looks ace mate, i only live 20 mins away i would of popped up if i knew it was on,

How did you find the car handled on the eibach sportlines?

Thanks for all the interest guys! Like I said at the start, the car was awesome, handling was superb and I've got enough power to keep ahead of most things, 650 bhp evo's aside! What stopped me going any faster (1min 29 secs) was partly my first time on track, partly tyres only got so much grip, but mostly not wanting to brake too hard ie at the markers because I didn't want to cook my discs and have to buy new ones! I could tell I was taking it easy on the brakes and I knew I could've gone deeper, but the dics were blue after the ist session and that told me a lot! Guess there are uprated discs though that would take it, anyone got info?

I have Dbilas, but thinking about a change to something else. I had Carbonio before, and as said above, really it makes no difference at all other than the panel filter letting more air in to the turbo. The biggest restriction is the OEM engine cover.

Nice pics and really nice colour. The square number plate spoils it though.

Btw, the esp was fantastic, just floor it out of the corners and let the electrics do the work! Must have sounded weird to the spectators...... Switched it off at the end of each session and lit the tyres in 3rd out of the corners, just cos I could! The traction control was even working in 5th gear at 120 mph at the end of the start/finish straight, the track's bumpy in places....

They are cracking pictures lad. You should try to invest in an intercooler, intake and downpipe. It does make a fair old difference :)

Any contributions gladly received! Got my name down for the ITG when it's ready, downpipe as and when I can afford it and jury's out on which intercooler, quite fancy the Forge, extra capacity? Put a fair few noses out of joint as it was..................

You need a lot more power to make it worthwhile, only Evo's really have it and the 360 was no quicker than mine, that said if you've got a real quick one AND know how to drive it, they are bloody impressive, the 650 bhp one left me standing coming out of a 100 mph corner, sideways! Flash showboating noodle eater........................

It is real strong power, doesn't tail off at all, pulls right to 7500 rpm, stronger than stage 1 and I don't yet have all the mods: real strange having to look at rev counter as I couldn't hear the engine the same with a helmet on! Peripheral vision down a bit too, used door mirrors, wish some of the other muppets had........
